We had the good fortune of connecting with Marica Chisolm and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marica, what principle do you value most?
Being kind and loving the people that I come in contact with genuinely and purely. These past 2 years have shown us that love really is a principle that we must show EVERY day!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am EXTREMELY excited about my new album Seeker. It is by far my best album that I have produced. One lesson I have learned on this is to KEEP GOING. Life is going to happen, you will have disappointments, you will have struggles but don’t allow any of that to deter you from the goal! I would hope to let the world know that I am tenacious and I have not allowed grief, depression or negative talk to stop me from doing what i’ve been called to do!!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my friends came to town I would show them all that Atlanta has to offer! A good ratchet Sunday brunch, a taco Tuesday with beautiful scenery, a comedy show on Thursday, a good steak dinner on Friday and a walk on the beltine on Saturday. Hopefully they will leave saying ” we have to go back”
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this to my grandmother. She is an unsung hero and continues to uplift family, friends, church members and every one she meets. She is typically behind the scenes, praying and pushing everyone else in the front. I want to take a moment and thank her for the years of “pushing” that she has done in my life.
