We had the good fortune of connecting with Margaret Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Margaret, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
When I started my health and wellness journey, I started creating meals that I wanted to eat with substitues I had to eat. I started by simply posting my meals online.

Because I have a flair for presentation, I received comments such as, “ Did you make that? How did you make that?” I decided to go live online and explain the steps.

To my surprise I now have a diverse and supportive community of food lovers like me. I am still shocked that anybody watches me!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have worked in Corporate America since college, for over 25 years, now. I am a Senior Business Analyst with a degree in Chemistry from Spelman College and an MBA in Technology Management. I’ve worked to master my business skills for decades but I also remember the long days, long commute, and numerous meetings in the office before the pandemic. Since 2020, I’ve been able to work from home which helps me avoid the temptations of endless snacks.

I have always said that being a Senior Business Analyst is just what I do. It’s not who I am. My YouTube channel allows me to express my creativity as a mom and home cook. I finally have balance!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of the best kept secrets of Atlanta, and every city is City Pass. Within a week, we would take a couple days to relax and catch up after picking up from our amazing airport. I’d host my friend in my Airbnb guest suite and provide tea & home cooked meals. During the week, we would cover the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, African American History Museum, Stone Mountain Park, & their choice of anything else. I would add the fine arts for a lady and a sporting event for a man before winding down for an amazing restaurant dinner.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have always struggled with weight and just accepted being a happy chubby girl. After 40, the weight problem turned into a health problem and I found myself to be pre-diabetic, with borderline blood pressure and also elevated cholesterol.

When I found Nancy Masoud from LockedIn Wellness, she informed me my weight came from inflammation and tested me for food sensitivities. With the list of foods I needed to avoid, I am able to enjoy eating & lose the weight!
