Meet Marco B.: Electronic Musician & Mangaka

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marco B. and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marco, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
The end goal for my professional career is to be the owner of a global multi-media franchise, ITERA.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I make anime inspired music. I also am the author of a manga series called ITERA. What I’m most excited about is taking both of these passions and elevating to the level of mainstream notoriety. To be able to create nerdy content like this from the nerd perspective at the highest levels is a truly a dream worth carving out! The most important lesson this journey has taught me along the way, is that you don’t belong to the world. You belong to you. What I mean by that is all too often we define ourselves and our lives based off where we “Belong” or try to “Belong”, so much so that we give ourselves away just to feel like we belong, all the while, we neglect ourselves in favor of that singular goal, but in reality, we belong to no one but ourselves and if we really embrace that notion, you’ll never feel like you don’t “belong”.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First We’re stopping at Jinya Ramen bar in Sandy Springs because fresh ramen is a must! Then we will probably go hang out at the studio and vibe to some great music or make some, after that we’d have to go back to my place and either watch some anime or play some video games, like Smash Bros Ultimate. I’m really a home body so that where we would be for the most part lol
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shoutout to Crunchyroll for recognizing and documenting my story. It meant a lot to a young black guy who never really found a space to belong.
