We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcella Tazewell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marcella, how does your business help the community?
My business is called Heart Social and it is a coaching and organizational development business. I believe the social impact it has is helping people develop areas in their life that they believe needs improvement in order to create better environments. My coaching and ability to empower others help them navigate healing, low confidence, and desire to pursue their passions. This can create positivity, growth and change in the areas where they dwell, work or targeted areas of desired development.

As an organizational development coach, we impact how structured a company can be. We desire to see structure, growth, and the ability to positively cultivate leaders. This impacts how their employees feel while working for them. Structure that is understood and easily followed develops confidence in work environments. We want to help impact the morale of organizations and allow them to retain employees and a healthy work dynamic. We want to give empowerment to the leaders and create plans that help create order and reasonable work plans.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It’s been a journey getting to this point in my life and career. I’m grateful and humbled to have such opportunities to inspire others in multiple capacities.

I believe what sets my brand apart from others would be not following the trends and just being as authentic as possible. At Heart Social, we get straight to it. We like to be transparent enough that you know it’s real, especially when sharing on the podcast or radio segments; we also remain a level of integrity and respect while sharing the truth. With the podcast we want all to experience the Triple XL. That means while you are listening, we hope you laugh, learn, and be liberated. This is the result of a heart chat.  Very grateful to K101.2 Pop and Ashley who is the host of the segment The Midday Takeover for allowing me to share weekly on the radio “Heart Chats” with Coach Cella. While coaching we desire to create a similar atmosphere because there needs to be a balance in your freedom and structure.

Some of the challenges as I have grown in my business was learning how to ignore those that thought I couldn’t honor my assignment. The lesson I have learned is to focus on those that are clapping for you because those are your motivators, place of peace, strategic partners and those that bear you up when it gets hard. Don’t focus on those that aren’t clapping because they add no value or substance to what you’re developing.

I want the world to know that Heart Social and The Social Hangout Podcast has been created as a safe place for you to heal from the inside/out so that you can live a better life because you’re able to make choices from a healthier place. We are looking for you to see yourself as the person you were created to be! We want to provide simple solutions that take a little work but can produce long-lasting principles and results.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Wow, that’s a tall order. I believe some great places to visit in the area would be a midday treat if you like wine could be Ashton Creek Vineyard in Chester, VA or for a nice coffee pick me up Urban Hang Suite in Richmond, VA.

Some of the really nice restaurants would be Wong Gonzalez (everything is amazing), Fall Line (upscale and cozy), MLK Steak Modern Chophouse (great food and atmosphere) and Sedona Taphouse (nice drinks and food).

If you want to dance a little, follow DJ Just Different on Instagram for all the fun. Some of my favorite spots in Richmond, Va would be Vagabond and Aces.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would most certainly like to shoutout all my close sister-friends (Londa, Cookie, Dalyla, Kneca, Regina, Nise, and Dee) that have supported my journey since the very beginning and stood beside me even until this day. I would like to shout out Sandra Parker for being a motivator, listening ear and starting navigator as I entered as a coach. I appreciate all my special guests on my podcast The Social Hangout as they have helped curate fun, informative and liberating conversations with me. Very thankful for my good friend Stephen Friend who is known as Friendzwordsofwisdom on social media for always being there to help bounce around ideas and join me in my career ventures. Also, I’m thankful for the support of my parents and children. My mother and daughter are always willing to listen to The Social Hangout and give their feedback. Doe the CEO of Drive Over Everything, I believe he deserves a shoutout for connecting with Heart Social and allowing his company to be my first organizational development project. Lastly, I am very thankful for those that have trusted me with their life journey, moments of inspiration, professional development and organization needs.
