We had the good fortune of connecting with Marc Dub and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marc, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor for me is having a genuine passion for what I do. I really love music. I enjoy the creative process behind making it. I enjoy writing, recording and everything that comes along with it. I enjoy sharing the music with the world and I love to perform my music for other people. I believe consistency is definitely key in the music industry. And the only way to stay consistent is to truly love what you do.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a musician first and foremost. I perform exclusively with my band, and I believe that’s one of the things that definitely sets me apart. My proudest accomplishment so far has been winning Performer of the Year award in the 2019 Atlanta Hip Hop Awards. Something that I could share with my band and the rest of my team and that means everything to me. It has been a long difficult road to get to where I currently am today. One of the main things I’ve learned is the importance of self confidence. There will always be people who do not believe in you or see your vision. But as long as you have a strong belief in yourself and a clear plan of where you want to go and what you want to do you will be able to overcome any obstacle put in front of you.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would definitely have to say shoutout my manager, Kayla. And also my band. They have all been crazy enough to go on this journey with me and believe in me as well. They all make me better as an artist and also as a performer as well. And I cannot thank them enough for doing so.
