We had the good fortune of connecting with Mango Kush and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mango, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
Cutting out my social life. Everything from the outside is made to look like glitz and glamour, that’s the point. In reality, you work hard to get into that position.

When I was in college and trying to make everything work, I drew out a simplified triangle of my life:
Education, Expanding my career and Social life.

That’s when I realized I couldn’t juggle all 3 without another faltering. I completely distanced myself socially, and refocused my goals and aspirations.
To this day, I have no regrets.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Absolutely not one bit of anything was easy. Not the writing not the modeling. A endless amount of trials and tribulations, hitting rock bottom and picking myself up again. Being played, lied too, betrayed and let down.

I lost myself 100 times before I found myself.

Every challenge has and WILL be overcame. When you love something, you never quit, when your passion is your lifeline, you do everything you can to stay alive.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m not quite fond of my city, respectfully, I don’t think it’s the place to really have fun getaways at ANYMORE, especially with the current demons plaguing the city, making it unsafe.

However at the absolute force of choosing something to do, the clubs and secret after hours lounges are fun.

North Georgia also has pretty waterfalls and mountain, pretty nature, quiet and peaceful, if you’re into that type of thing.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout God for paving a path for me even when it was dark.

Shoutout to Brittany who gave me my first CarShow when I was barely modeling, then my debut as a headliner Lowrider Car model. She saw my popularity coming before I knew I had any.

Shoutout to the friends who introduced me to new audiences and genres of entertainment, realizing my potential before I did.

And shoutout to Professor V, who reminded me to be who I always was, but had forgotten over time. For helping me fall back in love with my first love, writing.
