We had the good fortune of connecting with Machen Spencer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Machen, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important lesson that my business has taught me is the power of manifestation and prayer. My favorite bible verse is Philippians 4:13. I know it may seem cliche’ but I know that through Christ nothing is impossible, and with him I will always be fully equipped for whatever life hands me.

My business has taught me that I have to be intentional, specific, and purposeful with my words and the things I manifest. It is important for me to make it known to God what I want to happen in my life, but it is essential that he is in the center of it.

The tongue is such a powerful tool, and the mind is so fragile which is why I am careful with my words and my thoughts. I prayed for my business, and the people that I would meet on this journey—from the vendors, to the building, to the customers. My business has taught me how to interact with people from all walks of life. It has taught me that I must hold myself accountability for its successes and it’s failures. The most important lessons that my business has taught me are the power of the tongue, how to hold myself accountable, and that the sky is not the limit when you have a whole universe.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Having a business may seem easy from the outside but realistically its very challenging. I do believe that anything you put your mind to, you can do it. I continued to focus on my goals & stayed focus.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting my area, it would definitely be about relaxation. She is a hairstylist as well so our lives are constantly on the go.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A big shoutout to my mom & dad, my best friend, my cousin Trey, my cousin Lex, my customers, & family. They definitely trusted my vision & helped me to get to where I am today.
