We had the good fortune of connecting with Lynn Wesley Coleman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lynn, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is planning. I have taken breaks with my brand but you would not know it because I planned for it and some things look like real time when I worked on it months ago. I keep a calendar and agenda. I try to stay true to my schedule with work/family and my blog. I also think networking with others is important; especially with women. Keeping a great profile and up to date is key in success with any brand. I try to plan photoshoots ahead of time and plan working with other brands to make the photoshoots make sense for me timewise and financially.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am New Orleans native, who is also a wife and busy mom of two. Lynn is an unapologetic Generation X mom living in a Millennial world. She is a Xavier graduate with a BS in Business Management, who is a Human Resources Manager in the Hotel industry.

Golden girl of her time, Lynn, has been writing about food since 2010. She is a food enthusiast and quintessential tastemaker who has been blogging in the city for years. Lynn’s favorite saying is ‘ You can’t do epic things on an empty stomach.’ The goal of her brand is to be a guide to all things fabulous in New Orleans. Hotels, restaurants, events and style. Lynn feels a social responsibility to give back to her community, and looks to partner with local restaurants and charities as she expands her brand. Lynn is a Shuck Cancer honoree, Contributor of The Black New Orleans Mom and Eater NOLA.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am really into food. If you check out my profile you will see LOL.

Chapter IV NOLA is a new Brunch spot run by the Chase family.
Cafe Sbisa is in the French Quarter and great for dinners.
Peacock Room is great for Date Nights.
Saint John is a gem in French Quarters and has great food.
Scrambled is an elevated Brunch spot and has great food.
Morrow’s has a great vibe and Monday is also a fun place to hang.
Bywater American Bistro was my latest.

For sporting, I enjoy Saints, Pelicans games and Live concerts.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The Black New Orleans Mom and She Loves Nola are near and dear to my heart. I believe that women should inspire and work together. I try to mentor my colleagues at work and keep someone who is just starting out in the field. I also get many invites to eat and try new experiences. I try to invite new women who are aspiring to be an influencer and go over some best practices that I use.
