We had the good fortune of connecting with Lyndell Campbell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lyndell, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I’m going to keep it a buck, whenever you’re a dreamer AND doer? The option to give up is ever present and always available to you but, at the same token when you hear or move to a drumbeat that sometimes only you can hear? Personally at those dark times when I wanted to give up and say “I’m Good”…that same drumbeat got louder and louder and louder to the point where it just never went away. Giving up doesn’t speed up the process of your success, and starting over doesn’t get you across the finish line faster. I wake up daily with this indelible hunger which stems from being organically passionate about my life and simply breaking whatever generational curses I can get my hands on. I am the manifestation of my ancestors, which I accept wholeheartedly.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
One of the repetitive things that separates me from most relationship coaches, or Love advocates is when my clients book with me they know I’ll always be honest with them. They also know that I’ll be honest about who they are NOT versus who they hope to be. Judgement free zone but, I’m not going to turn a blind eye to the things that are right in front of them, which needs their time, devotion and dedication especially in regards to healing. I’m most proud of the support, love and appreciation from my followers, friends and strangers that genuinely care about what I do because they know it comes from a place of reality and experience. How I got to where I am today in my opinion was initial dumb luck! But as I kept going day after day, night after night in pursuit of the reason I can’t turn off this internally spiritual drumbeat? I ended up on some hit TV shows, and from there the rest is history! While I was new to the world of acting, I wasn’t new to NOT giving up once exposed to something that was bigger than myself, which taught me that every lesson you encounter in life is a testimony that someone you haven’t met yet needs to hear about. To go from living in the projects of west Michigan to the red carpets of life that I did not see happening for reason or another…that’s something only God can make happen because it never made sense. I always thought to myself “why me” because I didn’t grow up with a silver spoon because what government housing child did? What I want the world to know about me is symbolic of what I want them to know about my brand. To know that I never gave up even though I had every reason to give up, yet I never did is pretty powerful with the odds stacked against you. I want my life to be proof that if you focus on the silver lining and the small blessings? That if you just KEEP GOING you’ll arrive on time for every blessing of your life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Apache cafe is a WHOLE vibe, so that would be the spot to really hit. When it comes to food spots, if I’m being honest I’d hit Slutty Vegan 7 days a week during the day! Variety is everything so MJQ would be on that list as well as an Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Hawks game. Clermont Lounge for the low key but high vibes night out as well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
That’s absolutely right! You cannot succeed on your own and the beautiful thing about any journey of success is there’s always someone or a group of people that anchored someone all the way to the top. For me, if it hadn’t been for the prayers of my Granny Anna, my mothers consistent encouragement as well as my powerful tribe of family and friends I wouldn’t have the life I have now. My tribe which consists of my dearest friends Rachel and April out of Indianapolis have seen me grow up from failure to failure and not once in the decade or less of knowing them have they EVER judged any move I made. I knew I was stupid all on my own lol. But you need people in your corner that are also the ones from your circle, that will keep you afloat when you’re drowning from within, and there is no life raft meaning you HAVE to reach for help in the most humblest of situations. That’s my tribe for life! Once I reached a point of understanding the value of being loved in a healthy way, my future wife Layla fills that frame perfectly, not because she loves me but because she’s everything that no other woman is or will ever be. And while her audience is primarily women making changes for bettering their lives, her “GLOW+GetHERS” planner actually helped shaped my life from an organizational standpoint that I honestly never really had until I got my hands on it, and applied the tools she had inside. These are the people that make me ME!
