We had the good fortune of connecting with Lulu Gallegos and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lulu, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
As a women, I was nervous if I was able to manage a tattoo shop. But having an amazing staff that really supports you will help you succeed, also having my husband helping me and being by my side is very important. As soon as we started dealing with the county and health department, my husband and I knew the ball was rolling. Even though it was not a easy process, we knew something beautiful was happening.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
First and foremost we open this business not knowing anything about the tattoo industry. Over the time we learn things with the help of everyone. I learn how to pierce with the help of Jaime and of course my husband always knew about business management and that helped a lot. We knew that our business had to have a great customer service and with that being said I make sure everyday we have a great customer service .I love how every artist has a unique style and that are willing to do everything so the customer is satisfy. A lesson I learn along the way is to always show love to the people that are there for you and every week let them know how much you appreciate them and how good of a job they are doing. I believe this world needs more kindness and less hate.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well first I would take my visiting friend to the major tourist spots in Atlanta; The botanical gardens, Aquarium, the Puppet museum, ect. Then I would take them on a taste tour of all the rich cultures that make the Metro Atlanta so amazing. We would eat Korean BBQ at iron age, Italian at Paolinos, or maybe some Indian food at Blue Indian. Once we’ve eaten our fill we could enjoy an amazing drag show at Mary’s or get drinks at Sister Louisa’s Church of the Living Room & Ping Pong Emporium. Maybe we would even go play games at My Parents Basement around Decatur! And of course the best spot to end the trip is at our very own Endless Ink Studios for a new piece of body art or just to hang out in our inviting friendly atmosphere
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give thanks to the Lord for always guiding me to the right path. Also my hardworking husband for being there the whole step of the way and always helping me. A big SHOUTOUT to my crew. Starting with G, he’s a very versatile artist and personable with everyone who walks in the shop. A big SHOUTOUT to another Colombian buddy Andrey hard worker, always making us laugh being the clown of the shop. A big SHOUTOUT to my girl Tori, the sunshine of the shop, with a crazy colorful style that she brings to the shop and always so sweet and bubbly, its always great to have another strong woman in the shop .A big SHOUTOUT to Sebastian from Ecuador, a chill young man that is not scared of trying new ways to tattoo much love.
