We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Morris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Customer service! My heart is for my clients. Besides creating beautiful photographs of my clients, my number one goal is to create an awesome experience! I want them to walk away from their session or their event and know they had fun and that I am here to serve!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Anytime you start out on a journey to create a business there will be obstacles. My biggest obstacle was time. Fun fact: I am also a home economics teacher during the day! When I first started out I was only shooting an average of 1-2 session per week. My business grew faster than I could have ever imagined. I am blessed and now shoot at least 4-5 times per week plus 1-2 weddings/month. I have learned to ask for help when I am feeling overwhelmed (my husband is awesome) and have discovered the joy of outsourcing certain tasks. I always want to make my clients to feel like they are #1 in my hearts so outsourcing has allowed me to keep my focus on my clients.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh my goodness. This is hard. If I’m not shooting or creating, I prefer the outdoors. There are so many great places to eat in and around Atanta, but a few of my favorite spots include Superica, Meat ‘n Great (in Newnan, GA), as well as the Vortex! I know that is kind of a strange mix, but they all have great food! I love Piedmont park in Atlanta….being outside and people watching is like the perfect mix! Another great place to visit is Sweet Water Creek State Park. Not only is it great for hiking, but also has some great spots just to sit and talk!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband, Kenny Morris, is my number one fan! We have been married for over 27 years and he has always encouraged me to follow my dreams. During my photography journey I have been away from home for countless hours, but he has never complained. In fact, he is just proud of how hard I have worked to get where I am today in my photography journey. Being a professional photographer was a dream of mine since I was a little girl and I am so thankful for my husband and all his support!
