Meet LISA ENGLE: Certified Health Coach and Managing Partner of a Chiropractic Clinic

We had the good fortune of connecting with LISA ENGLE and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi LISA, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
As I’ve accepted my responsibility for my health and happiness, I’ve been able to empower and inspire others to do the same. Less by “telling” and far more by being an example and creating a safe space for people to explore what those experiences even could look like for them, We are all unique individuals with varying needs, values, and priorities. As we become more intimately aware of our wants and needs and accept responsibility for our health and well-being, we can more effectively and efficiently make choices to support healthy expression. As our healthy choices increase, aligned to OUR version of what health and well-being look like, so does our confidence and competence to move towards health rather than dis-ease…thus leading to disease. It has been a joy and honor to have created a space that people can safely learn to express healthier versions of themselves. Especially now, I’m watching an elevated value of the personal responsibility we have for taking good care of our bodies. After more than 30 years in healthcare (vs. sick-care), I have witnessed a broader cultural awareness of how important our everyday choices are in impacting our well-being. I’m so very grateful to be a part of that change.
What should our readers know about your business?
My role at the Atlanta Natural Health Clinic began in 1989 without ANY understanding about chiropractic. I was quite young and served in a primarily clerical capacity. Because my mother was an RN and midwife, I grew up with a high value for health and the amazing healing capacity of the body. I embraced my role and gift to empower patients; witnessing thousands reclaim their health. Over the years, I served the community with health and wellness initiatives in local, district, and county schools as well as developing my speaking/teaching skills for the GA Council of Chiropractic and other organizations. As my role expanded, at the same time, our family did too. I shifted my responsibilities in the clinic and earned my certification as a Health and Wellness Coach. I realized that I had, informally, been coaching patients at the clinic for decades. OptiMOM Coaching, LLC began in 2013 after my youngest child started school. After serving our clinic family for 28 years, I was brought in to be the managing partner. We’ve since expanded our team and thus the capacity of how we can care for our community. For me, the balancing of time, energy, and contribution to the clinic, coaching, my family, and self-care is a practice that has taken years to develop. I have to regularly revisit, revise, and tune into the desires, needs, and wants of the varying areas of my life, my Land of Lisa, that I want to give attention to. I attribute the success of my businesses to trusting and honoring process and timing. With an awareness that we’re not alone on this journey called life and that resources are available to support our progression in the direction of our desires. At the Atlanta Natural Health Clinic, we have been committed to high-quality, affordable health care for more than 35 years. At OptiMOM Coaching, there is a Pay It Forward program that eliminates the financial excuse for not getting needed support. I believe when we all begin to make choices to increase our health, not simply avoid disease, we will begin to see a radical change in the health of humanity. I hold the vision of a healthy and well world. I hope you will join me.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Showing off my city would certainly blow my restaurant budget because there are just so many amazing eateries near me! We’d certainly take time to hike Stone Mtn., stroll the river and nearby trails. I’d host them at the clinic for a detox footbath then go up (or down) Buford Hwy for lunch.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My passion for increasing the healthy expression of innate potential can be linked directly to the chiropractic profession and the people I have served (my family, patients, coaching clients, and many community organizations/institutions). I spent decades at seminars and conferences; the centennial celebration (1995) being one of the most impactful. My business partner, step-dad, and doctor, Philip Hurd, invested in my education and exposure to the science, philosophy, and art of the profession. Involvement, connection to, and influence of Life Vision, Life University, GA Council of Chiropractic, League of Chiropractic Women, Dynamic Essentials, Wellcoaches School of Coaching, and the love and support of MANY individuals have all shaped my healthiest expression.
