Meet Lianne Horne | Online Personal Trainer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lianne Horne and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lianne, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Relationship. I invest in people and focus on creating trusting, meaningful and effective relationships with my clients. My clients trust is super important because i am helping them build better bodies, emotionally, spiritually and physically.
I am an online personal trainer working with individuals in their homes which brings an element of intimacy from the beginning.
Connection is huge. We all love to feel connected in some way and its my job to make a connection with my clients so we can attain their goals. Once that happens, anything is possible.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is called Grit Studios LLC. I opened my business in 2016. My studio was big enough for myself and 5 other trainers. Grit Studios was not a gym where individuals become members and train whenever they desired. It was by appointment only and each client worked with their own individual trainer. When covid hit I closed the studio which meant I had to reorganize my business. Sadly, i said goodbye to all the amazing trainers who ran their businesses out of Grit Studios and moved my clients to an online training platform.
This was challenging for myself and my clients. I have always placed relationship and connection as priorities. Moving from “in person” to online (zoom meetings) was different. I was unsure if I could teach in the same effective manner.
To my surprise, I have found that training my clients online and in their homes has been even more intimate and has yielded better results.
Being online and having no distractions has been more focused and has had more depth. We have had amazing discussions about life while training. These discussions may not have taken place with other people around in the studio.
My story is simple. The power of connection is huge and we all want to relate to each other in some way. I am grateful that i get to use personal training as a means to touch lives while also being touched. I love my job!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my favorite places is Decatur. The dining options are fantastic. I am a fan of 2,4,6 and Leons. Because i am a sport fan, i would take in either a Braves Game or see the Atlanta Hawks.
The Atlanta Aquarium and the Coca Cola Museum are also great tourist attractions that I would share with friends.
Ponce City Market along the beltline would be a must. We would jog, walk or bike the beltline then stop for food.
I am a fan of the Fox Theatre as well as the High Museum so we would get around to one or both of those.
The Optimist is a fantastic restaurant so going there would be a must.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents for sure. My father owned “Ferris Meat Market” in North Bay, Ontario, Canada. He had an amazing impact on his employees (family members included) and on the community. His store was open 7 days a week and through his actions, I learned to hustle to get what I wanted.
Canadore College (community college in town) approach my father to teach a meat cutting coarse using his shop and my father touched the lives of many students. He not only taught them a trade, he taught them about living life.
My mother worked with my father but was more behind the scenes. She made a lot of the food that was sold in the store and was known for her “meat pies” which are very popular in Canada.
My mother also opened a gift shop across the street from my father’s market.
I had the opportunity to see my parents take risks to reach their goals.
