We had the good fortune of connecting with Lewis Texidor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lewis, why did you pursue a creative career?
From as early as I can remember, my mind has always been trying to come up with different stuff. From mixing colors, to putting weird combinations inside of my sandwiches or trying to play drums with some pillows and candles. As soon as I started experiencing the rush and joy of creating something I knew that’s what I needed to do with my life. Creating and thinking outside of the box ahs always been a huge part of my life and I knew I had to play to my strengths and passions when it came to pursuing a career.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I find myself constantly creating music or exploring my creative ideas through video, photography or design. I really enjoy immersing myself in the whole creative process and drawing influence from any art form. As artists sometimes we get to absorbed by the idea of creating, so one of the biggest hardships for me has been finding ways to reach an audience over the years and it was not till recently that I stepped back to analyze and realize that holding and grabbing people’s attention is another art to itself.

If I could give advice to anyone in this field is to keep doing what you do and to not expect success over night. Success comes from making many mistakes and never giving up. Make More Art.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When it comes to the culinary scene, places like the Vortex and the Local come to mind for those evening hangs with a nice beer. But places like the Avalon or The Halcyon are always a great place to take a friend, walk around and figure out some plans as we go.

I would definitely would like to show them around my favorite music venues like Terminal West, Center Stage, The Earl and so many other places.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The one constant that has always been supportive and encouraging in my life are my parents Jorge and Isabel. Couldn’t be who I am without them.
