We had the good fortune of connecting with Letoria Blackwell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Letoria, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I decided to pursue a creative career because it’s something I’ve always wanted to accomplish as one of my life goals. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies, where I have explored all creative areas such as: public speaking, broadcasting, journalism, graphic designing, photography and videography. To add, I used to be the event planner for an organization at my alma mater, where I helped create various events on campus and bring my visions for those events to life. This is something I love doing and have a passion for! I love to plan, organize, and bring smiles to other people’s faces. I am good at what I do, and I just need for more people to realize the talents God has given me. Though I do not believe that my talents have been utilized to its fullest potential yet, I feel there is more to showcase to the world!!!


Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have an event planning business called Flawless Temptation Events, where I can plan ANY event, and I provide other services such as: Photography, Business Card Designs, Logo Designs, Flyer Designs, Invitation Designs, Brochure Designs, Website Development, and Emcee/Hostess. I also sell lip gloss (sold out), 3D mink lashes and merchandise. In addition, I have my own podcast called CelebTalk Radio. I use my podcast as a tool to help build my resume for any professional careers I seek. I even decided to provide food services, Flawless Eats, but the pandemic hindered that business. I will still work to get that up and running in the near future.

It is not easy trying to run a business, especially on your own. I want to remain my own boss, where I’ll never have to clock in on someone else’s time again. I haven’t worked a supervised job in four years. I am where I am today because of my determination. That’s what set me aside; I put my mind to whatever it is and I achieve it.

I’ve learned along the way that I have to brand myself more and promote a lot better. I haven’t quite figured it all out just yet, but it does take time! I’ve only been in business for two years. I have many more to prosper!

I would like for the world to know that I am as genuine and real as they come! Also, I’d like the world to know that I am a mother FIRST, before anything else! I take everything I do seriously, and I always try to perfect my crafts.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I would like to thank God, who is the head of my life, for giving me such incredible talents and faith.

Secondly, I would like to shout out my daughter for being my sole inspiration and motivation to never give up on my dreams. Though it may take a little longer than usual with being a single mother, I still have my baby girl to remind me constantly to keep pushing in what I have always dreamed of becoming in life.
Thirdly, I would like to thank my parents for always keeping me on top and never letting me fail. Everything I succeeded in was because of them and their determination to help!!! Not to be cocky, but truthfully and honestly, I have never been a failure! I just will not allow myself to fail. I’m the type of person who keeps trying until I get it right because failure is NOT an option.
Lastly, I just want to say that there are people who come into your life for a certain purpose! I will never forget the day I interviewed this guy I went to college with on my podcast, CelebTalk Radio, and he spoke motivation and life into me. A part of me had given up on myself, but his words of encouragement touched me so dearly and it had so much meaning. His name is Ozone Mayweather (Mr. O2DaZoneBabie). I will never forget that interview with him, as I still remember him telling me to keep going and to never give up on my dreams. I refuse to give up on something I have my mind set to. I worked so hard to get to where I am today, and I have too many people depending on me!
