We had the good fortune of connecting with Leslie McGriff and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Leslie, what principle do you value most?
A value that matters to me the most is integrity. Integrity is important because it reflects my commitment to honesty and transparency in my business practices. By prioritizing integrity I can establish trust with my clients and ensure that my brand is known for being authentic and reliable. It also aligns with my goal and my mission of value engineering; As integrity ensures that I will deliver on what I have promised. It has always been my goal to build long lasting relationships with my clients as they trust me to make their vision come to fruition in an intricate piece they can always cherish.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
To get where I am today, I have put in countless hours of hard work, perfecting my designing skills, upgrading my packaging, designing my new logo…total rebranding, WHILE never losing sight of my vision. Elle Chase Accents will always be a Lone Ranger in this Industry because my Professionalism, Exclusivity and One of a kind Designs are unmatched. Not to mention, I am Blessed to Have the most amazing clients on the planet!!! We have personal relationships beyond the bracelet. They trust me to bring forth their vision whether it’s a personal piece, a legacy piece to honor a loved one, Or something they will walk down the aisle in; They TRUST Me and I am forever Honored.
To keep me grounded, I seek guidance and support from mentors who have help me navigate the complexities of balancing Art and my personal life. I’ve learned the power of perseverance and the ability to rise above negativity, doubt and most of all I’ve learned to stay true to myself and my brand, Elle Chase Accents, even in the face of adversity. Despite encountering Naysayers And undermining individuals in this journey, I have remained steadfast in my belief and my brand. Throughout this experience I have learned to trust again, but with a discerning spirit, surrounding myself with a circle of supporters who not only uplift and inspire me, but who also hold me accountable and “snap me back into reality” if necessary. If all you have around you is “Yes Men” you have no growth and will only go as far as THEY want to see you go.
I want everyone to always remember that no matter what challenges we face, we have the ability to overcome them through Faith in God, Real Family, and Real Friends.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Since I know they both LOVE to shop, I would take them to the Battery And Phipps Plaza to shop til they drop!! Of course food would be on the list so I’d have to take them to Elevation Chophouse and Skybar in Kennesaw (Cobb County International Airport) because in my opinion they have an amazing brunch and beautiful rooftop; watching the planes ascend and descend, it’s a really cool experience. Another Must try would be Twisted Soul Cookhouse and Pours in Midtown. They have the best oxtails I have ever had in my entire life! They are a soul food restaurant with a Caribbean twist and it is absolutely amazing!
Because of my LOVE for the underrated sport of Baseball, An Atlanta Braves game it is!! At the phenomenal Trust Park, it would Definitely be a day to remember. I absolutely could not let them come to Atlanta and not tour the historic and iconic Ebenezer Baptist Church and the Birth home of the Late, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I know absolutely nothing could compare to an up close and in-person experience of OUR History. The World of Coca Cola would also be a fun stop to experience the taste of Colas from all over the world along with a Ferris Wheel ride to see what I’d like to call, one of the most Beautiful night skylines in the South. City winery would be on the list before they head back to Florida, for a night of Live Music, Fun, Food and LAUGHTER!!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are always people who will be in Your corner to support you even when your Mind can’t comprehend that you even have supporters. Despite the challenges I had in building my business, I have been fortunate and very blessed to have an incredible, loving and supportive network of close family and very close friends by my side. With that being said, my parents, Timothy and Lillian McGriff, have been a pillar of support for me. Their unwavering encouragement, love and constant prayer has given me a source of strength throughout my journey in building my brand. My Mother always reminds me to “Remember what GOD said” and my Father always says “Don’t Give Up.” With those 2 Things always being at the forefront of any and all things that I do, I will Always win…ALWAYS KEEPING GOD FIRST AND NEVER GIVING UP!
