We had the good fortune of connecting with Lee Mo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lee, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Laughing makes me happy. For a brief moment in time, every worry and fear disappears, and I’m fully in the moment. Cackling it all away. It’s the same with singing, but it comes along with healing. Creating makes me feel happy and free. Resting also makes me happy. Putting down every heavy weight from the day and feeling light as a feather. My friends make me happy, too. I love listening to their stories and adventures of their lives. I’m happiest when we get to share it together.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think my sound stands out because of its authenticity. I have an assuredness in my delivery and a fearlessness that I’ve gained through years of music but also life experience. My studies in school have only enhanced my vocabulary as a musician, but my soul resonates with whatever style/genre I employ. Music moves me, and it cuts beneath the surface and touches your soul.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m new to the LA area myself, so I’m still learning right now. I’m more of a spontaneous person, but I have a few places that I could recommend. I would definitely take them to this cool funky Monday night jam session at a club called Goldiggers. It’s led by Brandon Brown aka “Pastor Funk,” snd it does get pretty funky in there. On Tuesdays, there’s a grown and sexy session that happens at Bar Lis. As far as food goes, I do enjoy the Banana Xango dessert from Bossa Nova. I would also take them on a hike at the Hoover Overlook to see the sunset.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to give a shoutout to Mare. She’s an amazing artist and songwriter from Philadelphia who tells her story her way. She has a unique and confident sound. She has definitely pushed me and spoken life directly into me and my artistry, giving me strength when I wanted to give up. Instagram: @InMaryland
