We had the good fortune of connecting with Layla Walker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Layla, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I’m not a real risk taker, but taking risk has helped me to become a better dancer and jump started my acting career.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a dancer, actress, business owner and YouTube. I’ve been dancing since the age of 3, acting since 14, YouTuber “Iamlaylataige” and business owner ‘Taige Boutique” at the age of 14 as well. I’m most proud of my acting career and where its headed. I’ve become more confident with my auditions which help me land a role on The First Lady and Fatal Attraction. With the help of God, my parents, and little brother is how I got to where I am today. It wasn’t easy getting here, I just had to keep pushing hard, pray, take acting classes, master classes, and just being confident in myself. I’ve learned to always make sure I’m happy with all the many things I’m doing because mental health is very important, I also learned its okay if people don’t support you or understand you, and I’ve learned family is very important. I want the world to know Layla Walker will soon become household name as well as Taige Boutique. I want to inspire girls to be themselves, love themselves, and know anything is possible if you believe it’s possible.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take my best fried to the Avalon in Alpharetta. It’s a friendly atmosphere that includes shopping, eating, and entertainment. We would have breakfast at the Broken Egg, then go shopping at the Avalon. Get a mani and pedi while at the Avalon, go to lunch at Bocado Burger, Drink some Starbucks “Caramel Macchiato”, walk around more and watch a movie. I would also love to hang out at the Skating Rink in Smyrna and go to Fruit Park ‘Braves Stadium”. You meet lots of people and its a great place to hang out.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to send a shout out to God for always showing up and showing out in my life. I would like to shout out my parents for always being so supportive of everything I want to do in my life and career.
