We had the good fortune of connecting with Lawrence Omodele and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lawrence, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Staying down, praying, and remaining humble all contributed to my success. I believe that you should not share your success with everyone. Even your closest friends will not be happy for you, so keep your good news to yourself. It also helps me in remaining humble. When I accomplish something new, I simply pat myself on the back and say, “Okay, this is one of many things on my list that I’ve accomplished, but I have to keep going, it doesn’t stop here.” Always remember to pray, even if you don’t feel like doing so. A simple prayer can help you get through the day.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started my carwash business when I was 17 years old. I didn’t think about the future or where my business would take me when I first started. I was a 17-year-old teen who was constantly in trouble. My father always kept me near cars, so I had no choice but to learn about them. I just decided to start a car wash one day, and the next day I washed my first car. The date was set for July 15, 2020. Although there are many more detailers in Atlanta, I don’t believe any of them work as hard as I do, which is what distinguishes me from others. I simply got to where I am today because I did not give up. Even when things seemed difficult, I persisted. Running a business while attending school is a challenge. It wasn’t easy to get to where I am now. It required dedication, consistency, effort, a long stretch of no sleep, and the list goes on. I overcame all of the obstacles that were thrown at me by maintaining a positive attitude throughout the difficult times. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that success does not happen overnight. I want the world to know that this business was only started to keep me out of trouble, but because I persevered, I have matured and grown into a responsible adult.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d bring my best friend to the putt shack. Putt shack is a miniature golf course in three dimensions. It mixes the pleasure of playing miniature golf with the most recent technological breakthroughs of 2022. It introduces a new culture to an ancient sport that some may find tedious. Overall, it’s a terrific opportunity to bond. Also we will certainly tour the major malls. Honestly, whenever I return to Atlanta from a trip, I always stop for some American Deli, so I figure it’s only right that I take my out-of-town best friend there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My father (Richard) My mom (Olabisi) and my brother (Phillip) are the three people I’d like to recognize. My father may not realize it, but I look up to him when it comes to running a business. He owns an automotive mechanic shop. I see how he manages his business and am constantly picking up information. I also use those tips to help me manage my business.My mom stays behind me 10 toes. She’s always interacting with my instagram post and always the first to like and comment.  Without my brother Phillip encouraging me to do new things and reminding me not to give up on my business, I wouldn’t be where I am now. When I decided to do something new on a car that I’d never done before, Phillip offered me his car so I could practice on before working on anyone else’s car. Even the times that i thought about quitting, Phillip was always there listening to me talk and give me advice.
