We had the good fortune of connecting with Lawrence Carter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lawrence, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I began COMBiNE Magazine and EbonVision Media with the intent of helping creators, models, and small business owners reach markets and consumers that they could not on their own.

What should our readers know about your business?
COMBiNE Magazine began as a way for artists and models to become published in a magazine when they may not have that opportunity otherwise. I hope that they will use the platform to increase their fan base, EbonVision Media was the next logical step after COMBiNE Magazine. EbonVision was created with a similar goal as COMBiNE. Trying to help creative’s reach more eyes. It isn’t easy. Mainly because I do it all on my own. People have come and go, mostly because they want the accolades, and the likes, but don’t feel the need to contribute in any way. I’ve learned that you can’t be overly helpful to most people. Way to many individuals believe that they are owed success, and that hard work doesn’t pertain to them. I would like people to understand, that if someone is willing to help you with your dream, that you should work as hard as they do.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I wouldn’t be able to help them. I’m a home, work, and studio person. I would probably take them to the Mustard Seed, which is an awesome bbq spot. Then back to my house we go to get some editing done on these shows.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom, Cheryl Carter. She isn’t with us anymore, but I do everything and I treat everyone like she taught me to. I hope that if she was here she woukd be proud of the person that I have become.
