We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauryn Nichole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauryn, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Since I was a young girl, I always knew I was destined to follow a creative artistic path. I actually started off as a dancer at age 2. I even thought I was gonna be a professional background dancer or choreographer. I ended up injuring myself and that’s what got me so in tune with music and writing. So to answer the question, I’m pursuing an artistic, creative career because it’s my entire life. Music has gotten me through some of the hardest times of my life and I believe my story will hopefully help masses of people too.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others? I can’t tell you that but I will say I represent authenticity and not being afraid to show people all sides of me. My brand in itself represents duality. I call it “Loren vs Lauryn”. Loren is the sad, emotional, depressed side of me which was created to show the side that most people hide away because they’re afraid of being judged or they feel that if they talk about that side of them, no one will hear them and no one will care. So I’ve made it a goal of mine to show that side of me consistently so that others aren’t so afraid to do the same and don’t feel alone. The other side of me “Lauryn” is the happy, positive, joyful side of me which I show to the public, when really I go home and cry myself to sleep.

Getting here was definitely not easy and honestly I still have a long way to go. The music field is probably one of the hardest career paths to take because as an artist you have to wear so many different hats and faces but I wouldn’t trade it for the world! I absolutely love what I do. Even just being able to communicate with people who connect to me, my story, and what I stand for is fulfillment for me in itself.

Some lessons I’ve learned while pursuing this career path is that not everyone will support you. It’s always strangers that will support you before people you’re closest to will. I learned that you have to have extremely tough skin and even on days you’re feeling discouraged you have to keep going and never give up.

All in all, I pray that one day my music will be heard worldwide and that everyone who hears my songs are touched and impacted in a positive way and feel they’re not alone in what they go through and that’s it’s okay to not be okay. Another huge topic my brand represents is Mental Health. Mental Health is an issue everyone deals with but it’s something that was shunned for a long time. I’m hoping with my platform that I can bring as much awareness as possible to these everyday problems and make the world a better place if I can.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely take them to Michigan Adventures, Somerset Mall, and Frankenmuth. I’ve always loved roller coasters and water parks so Michigan Adventures would definitely be the first place I take my bestie to have a grand time. Somerset Mall is one of the biggest malls where I am so I’d definitely take my friend to explore all the cool stores and food places they have there. Last but not least Frankenmuth has lots of dessert spots and food spots that are so so good ! Along with some nice sight seeing places.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First I wanna give an absolute HUGE shoutout to my mom. My mom is my everything and has supported me through any and everything I’ve ever wanted to pursue. She pushes me everyday to be the best I can be and I don’t know what I’d do without her. Second I wanna give another HUGE shoutout to my manager Brandon Smith who is the owner of Star Factory. He’s literally the best thing that could’ve ever happened to me regarding my career and I wouldn’t be where I am today without him. He’s helped me grow not only as a person but as an artist as well and I couldn’t be more thankful.
