Hi Latesha, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is determination and making sure that I make a difference in birth work. For me, actions speak louder than words and one thing I know, people never forget how you make them feel. In motherhood, you go through a wide range of feelings and emotions. During those times, you need your village to be able to help you through those peaks and valleys. Being a vessel in the life changing moments for a woman transitioning over to a mom is a feeling that can’t be explained. Helping her become an advocate for herself, being confident in making choices for her health and baby is magical! I’m grateful for those who have allowed Birth Script Doula Services to be apart of their journey.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I think my personality sets me apart from others. I aim to make each experience different and try to ensure that all my moms receive a different Birth Script experience. Each day I am proud of where I am business-wise. I try to remain grounded to allow room for expansion and know that mistakes will occur. Nothing worth having comes easy, so I welcome all challenges and tackle them as they come while looking forward to understanding the lesson behind it. I want the world to know that if an idea comes to you, take action. It doesn’t have to be perfect, everything happens for a reason.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ponce City Market has become the place to be. You have restaurants, art gallery and different activities to enjoy all in one area.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I most definitely would like to dedicate my shoutout to my two amazing daughters! My own transition to motherhood is where my passion ignited for birth work. My village, my husband, friends and family are all amazing contributors for me being present for births, business planning, etc.
