We had the good fortune of connecting with LaRon Carroll and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi LaRon, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
The end goal is to be successful. Where I want to be by the end of my career is in a place where I can look back & see everything I’ve accomplished were all of my dreams that came true & know without a doubt that it’s not only because God blessed me with the desires of my heart but because it was in his will for my life. To be the man God has called me to be. Right now, I’m trying to sign a major label record deal. My eyes are on Capitol Christian Music Group &/or Reach Records. Would love to sign with either of them but will sign with whatever label offers the right deal honestly. I just pray it’s either one of them lol When I look back at my career, I want to be proud that I got to work with every artist I’ve ever wanted to work with no matter what genre of music they do. But I also want to be a successful actor via movies, tv shows & commercials.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I like to think what sets me apart from other artist is I’m very diverse. My sound can collaborate perfect with any genre of music & any artist & yet, I never compromise my faith. I’m most proud of the progress I’ve made independently because 3 years ago, I walked away from a $1 million dollar secular record deal to follow Jesus & I’m excited for my new album, “Past My Pain” that just came out & that I’m meeting with record labels to pitch my music. Fingers crossed on finally signing a major label deal. How I got here today was putting God first & staying in my prayer closet. Mix that with hard work, passion & dedication & investing in myself & here we are. It wasn’t easy at all. But I overcame the challenges because I believe in myself & I refuse to lose focus on my dreams. I’ve learned a lot of lessons along the way. One of the biggest is that everything happens in Gods timing. Trust the process. There’s no shortcuts but it helps by being yourself instead of trying to be someone else or comparing where you are in life to someone else. Be thankful for your successes & learn from your failures. But putting God first will always be a great start. I want the world to know that my brand “iamLaRonMusic” isn’t an overnight success story. I didn’t wish upon a star & all my dreams came true. Everything about my brand is built from the ground up. I’m super proud to look at the plaques on my wall for 1Million + streams, charting at #16 on gospel radio or even having the 2nd biggest Christian album in the country because my album hit #2 on the iTunes Charts, but I still remember dreaming of these successful moments when I was in foster care getting beaten, tortured & starved with dog leashes around my neck, eating cold molded ravioli from a can out of a dog bowl on my hands & knees with dog poop in the bowl. and if I didn’t obey, a knife got put to my throat & then I got locked in a dog cage. Even then, I knew I could make it & be successful. I’m still not where I want to be, but I’m not where I was back then either & for that, I’m blessed.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, right now, I currently reside in a small town of West Virginia called, “Moundsville”. It’s super boring here lol there’s literally nothing to do. But Morgantown & Pittsburgh is about an hour & a half in 2 different directions. So I let my friend pick where to go & then we’d go. Personally, I’d choose Pittsburgh because I have the coolest Wiz Khalifa story ever & he’s from there. So to represent, Pittsburgh it is lol But if it was all up to me, the itinerary would start with a huge seafood boil with lobster tail, king crab legs, 2 lbs of shrimp & a Pepsi to wash it down. Hit the mall to go shopping for some new swag lol take a private helicopter ride to be flown around the city for a sky view tour & then by the end of the week, skydiving lol (and no, I’ve never done it but I really want to lol) go kart track, movies, etc. & then just hang at the house & listen to music while we reminisce on high school & how everything used to be in the early 2000’s. That would be the best part. Haha
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank my beautiful & amazing wife, Monica, for her love & support. The sacrifices she makes to help make my dreams come true. For not only encouraging me when I feel lost or discouraged but for never giving up on me like a lot of people in my life & for loving me past my pain. For lifting me up in prayer & constantly speaking life over me & our marriage. And still finds the strength to be a great mother to our new baby girl Aaliyah & the rest of our awesome kids. She truly is the best part of me & is the glue that hold our family together. I love you babe. So very much!
