What should our readers know about your business?
Ohio native Lamarr Mann- who now resides in Norcross, Georgia – is a business coach, author. and founder of LJ Mann Holdings.

Lamarr Mann’s new book “This Is Business Vol 1” focuses on creating the next generation of entrepreneurs. The book, “This is Business, Vol 1” is part of a self-help series, a one-stop repository that will teach aspiring entrepreneurs all they need to know about how to start a business and excel in a venture of their choice.

“This is Business” includes anecdotes of Lamarr’s experiences while working as a teenager who later launched a business and built it into a successful one. So, Lamarr is offering a guide to business-building using his own experience as a reference for entrepreneurship. The book dwells upon various factors that are important in business-building: motivation from personal experiences, education from life’s lessons and the keenness to put it all together to build out a successful business.

Lamarr says, “The days of finishing traditional college and landing the high paid salary job are over. You can no longer depend on companies to provide you with a pension for retirement, job promotions, and even job security. These days, it’s all about having an idea with entrepreneurship in mind — and starting it to expand your income streams.”

Lamarr has used 15 years of corporate experience to create a ready-reckoner that young entrepreneurs can use to hone their skills in business building, marketing, finance and project management and other areas. His business-development skills in the commercial cleaning and real-estate sectors are being offered in the book as a transferable resource that finds application in any business venture.

An MBA holder specialized in Information Systems from SPSU Marietta Campus in Georgia, Lamarr is trying to promote the culture of business-building among young adults. He feels that young people should not invest their talent and enthusiasm on established corporate entities that, almost always, cater to the interests of others. They should instead launch their own ventures.

When not business coaching his clients or writing business-related content, Lamarr can be found outside exercising at the park, catching up with family or friends virtually or at home listening to his vinyl records.

I have always wanted to do two things in my life, 1. Help other people and 2. Become an author. The road less traveled is not always easy, but since I understand that the youth will benefit from this book it makes it easier for me. I have learned that when trying to promote a book you need to have a good support system and even better team that understands your vision. I started writing this book ten years ago and it was supposed to be about my life and about my personal experiences. As time progressed, I realized that even though some people would read the book and be inspired, I may not reach as many people as I would want to.

So as a result, I stopped writing altogether and I felt like I would never finish writing my book. It wasn’t until early 2019 that I decided to finish what I started so I changed the focus on writing about my life experiences and focused on educating young people on how to become entrepreneurs. I created a new outline that would include some of my life experiences but would be more geared towards motivating young adults to start a business at a young age. I am happy to say that my dream to become an author is now a reality. I would like to thank all my family, friends, and fans that have supported me through the writing process.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite restaurants in city- South City Kitchen Midtown, STK – Atlanta, and Oceanaire Seafood Room My favorite places to hangout in the city- Whiskey Blue , Whiskey Mistress, and Suite Food Lounge Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have a great support system in my family and close friends and they have played a big role in both me becoming an author and starting LJ Mann Holdings. My mother has been my mentor since day one and I joined her business at a young age. I was able to learn from our family business both the successes and opportunities through the years of operation. When I decided to start my own business, I shared my ideas my mother to get strategy on the best ways to market my business.

I often share my ideas my mother because I know she has experience in all aspects of business and her advice is valuable. My father has been my mentor as well and he supports me with any venture that I have started. He makes me think about being fair to my clients and to work hard for all things that come my way. He has kept me balanced throughout my life and I appreciate his insight as well.
