Meet LaDonna Hampton: Author, Tutor, & Organizer

We had the good fortune of connecting with LaDonna Hampton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi LaDonna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’m an advocate for literacy in all senses. Financial literacy, reading and writing. I wanted to provide a service affordable for our community as a tutor in reading and development. I have a background in early education it made sense! I also offer services as an organizer & facilitator for community events.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I currently live in Clayton County, Georgia, where I find fulfilment working closely with the public as A Library Assistant and a Youth Service Assistant for Clayton County Library System.
I am also the owner of Hampton LaDonna Marie LLC, where I offer services as a literacy coach for children ages 4-12 and community
organization services.
I understand the importance of interpersonal relations while living and working for a county that you simultaneously are building your business. You have to be good at building sustainable relationships. I use my 13 years of customer service and administrative experience to cultivate an enthusiasm for engaging face-to-face have virtual experiences.
I love to commit time to help people in the area where I grew up,
I graduated from Mundy’s Mill High School in Jonesboro and studied
early childhood education at Southern Crescent Technical College. My grassroots mentality fuels the dedication to bringing resources and opportunities to those in her community who need it most. a huge lesson for me is Servitude is the key to success.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Although things have been much different the past year due to covid, I would say there are things to do. If my cousins visited from my original hometown of Chicago, Illinois, we would make the best trip to Atlanta. I love to hang out, so we would have to visit a few lounges around the City. Maybe Go out to midtown and visit Top Golf or a spot to dine for a Day as well. Im versatile, so A Highlight would be to see one of Georgia’s state parks and do some hiking and enjoy nature. Clayton County has plenty of parks as well! I’m pretty easy going, so good music and good vibes is all it would take to have a wonderful time. Grab a mask and go.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would want to give credit to my parents. My mother and father inspired me. Their love, devotion, and work ethic are unmatched. They always pushed me to be my best self and work with integrity.
I’ve always been an avid reader, I love non-fiction, a go-to book for me, is Game of life and how to play it by Florence Scovel Shinn. This author has several books that have encouraged me.
