We had the good fortune of connecting with La LaRue and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi La, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
My end goal is to just be known for what I love to do, and that’s RAP. I want to inspire yourself girls like myself to follow your dreams and stick to your goals. No dream is too far!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Wow, what sets me apart from others? Well first things first. I change the temperature in ANY room that I walk in. It’s my energy, my confidence, my vibe! I’m a Transgender Rapper but that’s never bothered me none. I’m sure I’ve ruffled a few feathers but who’s checking me?! I’ve been rapping since a teen and it was my drive that got me where I am today. I’m not where I want to be but I’m definitely not where I was before so I’m grateful. I’m blessed. I’ve had my share of challenges but that’s a thing of the past. I push forward and forget all about my past Issues.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well thank god my best friend NeNe actually lives here in Atlanta with me. She’s so much fun. If we feeling fancy we’d head out for some drinks and something to eat at Ruth Chris, STK, or the Oceanaire. I love to go to piedmont park just to walk and relax. Strip clubs like Magic City, King of Diamonds Atlanta, and Onyx is ALWAYS a go to!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate this article to my Daughter KEARRAH. I love you very much.
