Meet Kyriell Paris-Agafonov | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyriell Paris-Agafonov and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kyriell, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Obsessing over small details. I get lost in very small details that I think the average person doesn’t notice. However, when a lot of small details are perfected the result ins astounding.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I want to change the way people see the colors. I want to grab their attention and really have my art be a mirror reflecting their subconscious. I’ve been painting and drawing all of my life and only in the later years have I begun to share it more of professional capacity. I started out at small shows and pop ups. Really whatever and wherever I could put my art for more people to see it. Some of my struggles continue to be and have been finding the right environments to show my work. My work is received very well by people but sometimes stands out a bit too much from the crowd. Like a psychedelic sore thumb. I’ve been working to get into more contemporary and colorful galleries and places that fit my work better.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Of course we would have to catch a comedy show and burgers after at the laughing skull lounge. On one day if definitely show them around georgia state university where I went to school. Have to catch and atlanta united game and probably hang out in the botanical gardens and piedmont park. Im not much for crowded places but I love walking the city at night. Jackson street bridge would be a must and then probably to cabbage town to see some tremendous wall art work.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Adam Podber really helped me when I first left my full time job in pursuit of purely artist driven career. Showed me techniques and passed on critical knowledge about the industry.
