Meet Kyndra Tate | Social Media Manager | Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyndra Tate and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kyndra, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Well, I originally started my journey to cultivating a career with the intention of becoming a therapist. I have always enjoyed listening to people and helping people connect with their thoughts. I also enjoy creating. The process to take one thing and turn it into something else brought joy to my life. I spent a lot of time doing self-portraits, writing, and being myself on social media.
Someone asked me to help them with their social media one day and I said yes. It wasn’t a well thought out decision, honestly. I had no idea of what the other side of social media looked like until I dove into it. Before I knew it, I made it an official business and started to gain a few clients.
I am still heavy in the learning phase, but I truly enjoy it. Long story short, my thought process to starting my business was more trial than error. I simply said yes to an opportunity and kept going until I hit the right path.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Listening to people comes first. I work with entrepreneurs who really don’t like social media or it becomes so jumbled to the point that they have to outsource it. My goal is to help them connect the dots between their business goal and how they show up for themselves on social media. While I did not become a therapist, I truly value connecting with people and being intentional about mental health. I am what people call multi-passionate. What I originally started doing as a career pivoted into something entirely different.
I think what sets me apart from others (and this may not sound like much) is that I care. I really do care, even about the little things.
This perception stems from my work in social services. I started my career as a child advocate and went on to work in a domestic abuse shelter. Getting to where I am today professionally wasn’t hard, but it was an adjustment. I had to learn how to implement skills that I learned working in such a trauma-based environment to fit into social media marketing. The common ground I found was my ability to connect with people in their vulnerability.
I realized that a lot of entrepreneurs are always in some period of adjustment. Growth has to happen when you’re reaching for the stars. I am stretching as an entrepreneur trying to figure it out. Your business is not something you trust with someone who doesn’t care enough to connect.
I’m usually working one-on-one with entrepreneurs trying to get it out the mud. Being able to meet my clients in that transitional space unapologetically is the fire behind my inspiration to create for them. My faith brought me here. The desire to trust that God had a plan. One experience in my life was preparation for the next.
My business may be all things social media creative, but my gift is helping people. That’s how TBK Collaborations started.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate this shoutout to Dr. Tiffany Ross (who actually referred me) and Alexus Fields, owner of Golden Galore Luxe Beauty Bar.
