We had the good fortune of connecting with KRAMER DEANS and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi KRAMER, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my business was creating an avenue for the Black community to get into craft beer and earn the same opportunities in the industry as a non person of color. I wanted to become the representation Black people wish to see in any space they are in.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Black craft beer enthusiast that wants to create opportunities and true diversity in the craft beer community through conversation and education. I am most excited about being able to see people have that “ah ha” moment when the sip a beer for the first time when they didn’t know much about beer prior.

I had to work and learn alot to get where I am today. I think you are a liar or extremely privileged if your journey was not difficult. That difficulty was something I embrace daily because I am growing and learning from it everyday. I see the benefits daily. I have learned to create your own luck because you can’t rely on people or things to work in your favor.

What I want the world to know is that craft beer is amazing and there is a community that you can feel safe with The Beerded Brotha.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
With me being a craft beer enthusiast, I would definitely suggest going to different breweries such as Harding House, New Heights, Black Abbey, Living Waters, Bearded Iris and East Nashville Beer Works. I would definitely space these out over the course of the week as they have some strong brews and I want you to properly enjoy the beer from each location. I will also suggest any black owned restaurant like Slim and husky’s for fantastic pizza to start your vacation. You can go to Sinema for your dose of fine dining. After that you go grab a couple drinks and Willie B’s or Minerva where you can get a nice cigar with your whiskey ginger. You can get your sweet tooth fixed and head to Rolled 4 Ever to get your ice cream.

You’re in Nashville so you HAVE to get Prince’s Hot Chicken. That is the OG of the hot chicken craze! Warning: Get the medium because the hot will tear you up, TRUST ME! I would definitely be a tourist and head down town to the National Museum of African American Music and get a better appreciation of music.

If you are a morning person or need to recover from the night before, I would definitely head to Grams and get a latte with a hearty cinnamon roll. Also take some time to sit on the riverfront and and take in the city for it’s subtle beauty.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a huge shout out to my fiancée, Ashley Olds. She has been there for me pushing to be my best everyday and believe in myself. She has constantly reminded me that I belong in whatever space I occupy. She always wants what is best for me which makes me work hard every day to achieve greatness.
