We had the good fortune of connecting with Korin Lane and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Korin, what do you want your legacy to be?
I want my legacy to be worship. I want people to remember me for loving Jesus and showing people how to worship the Father and loving my family.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been on stage performing since I was 4yrs old. Professionally since the age of 7/8yrs old. Music has literally been my entire life. I’m a legacy child, my dad was an entertainer that performed and toured all over the world with temptations, Patti Labelle, James Brown, The O’Jays, and so many more. I always tell people I was born into the industry. The moment my parents find out me and my siblings could sing, we were on stage. We didn’t have normal kid summers, lol! Our summers we spent doing shows and in the studio. We were almost signed to Tommy Boy Records and my parents didn’t like the terms of the deal so we turned it down. My parents artist developed me as a kid which turned me into a very polished adult artist. Because of that I’m able to train my daughter, who is a 9yr old singing powerhouse. I used to regret the training I had as a kid because I felt like my childhood was robbed, but I started to understand that I wasn’t a normal kid. I was highly gifted at my age and my parents trained me to perfection. I’m grateful now because that level of excellence shows up in everything that I touch now. When I was about 25 years old I got signed to The Artist Factory with industry Mogul Hiram Hicks. I was the first artist on his major independent label. I was signed for 2yrs and they didn’t have any direction for me so I didn’t re-sign the contract and I decided to start songwriting. I was able to meet and write for many artists such as Letoya Luckett, Chilli of TLC, Kevon Edmonds of After 7, Shareffa who was signed to DTP, etc. those were the most exhilarating and challenging times of my life because I was really putting so much time and effort into perfecting my craft as a songwriter and so many doors were closing concerning it. I almost had a publishing deal and the terms weren’t right so I turned it down. Which is so familiar from my childhood. All these “Almost” moments that didn’t make any sense to me then. All started making sense to me when I gave my life to Christ in 2010 and the Lord revealed to me, why I sing and the healing anointing that’s on my gift. He wouldn’t allow me to go in these doors at that time in my life. What is for me is for me and I won’t miss it. My life’s purpose became so clear and so sure. Music is the vehicle in which I use to reach people and show them the love of God. I’m so excited about my t-shirt line “Worship To Live” I have sold so many t-shirts all over the world, it just blows my mind. This season is so exciting in my life. I’m co-owner of a podcast recording & social media content studio, Im a Celebrity Vocal Coach, I’m a Mental Health Coach, I’m a momager to an amazing 9yr old superstar Taylor-Brinaé, a momasisstant to a 13yr old Bracelet business owner Railen Chanai, her business is called Railen Chanai Jewels and I’m also a Navy mom to an almost 21yr old son who makes me proud everyday! God is just getting started with The Lane Family. So keep your eyes on us, WE UP!!!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Omg I’m so not good at this. Yikes! My bestfriend would be so mad because we would be at the house all week hahaha!! I mean I do like to eat, but I don’t know any cool spots in Atlanta. So I would check TikTok or instagram for the recommended places to eat and go there. Me and my friends went on a double date to this place called The 3rd Spot, it was so fun, so I would take her there. I’m a stay a home, and watch a good Netflix series kind of gal, oh and eat 😆

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely want to dedicate my shoutout to my Husband, Brian Lane and my kids Keion, Railen, and Taylor-Brinaé Lane. They are the reason I do what I do and keep me motivated to be the best Wife, mother, vocal coach, business owner that I can be.
