We had the good fortune of connecting with Kleo the Artist The Brow Fairy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kleo the Artist, how do you think about risk?
My journey to this place has been based on letting go of imaginary fear and truly putting my faith in God. I left the security of my full-time job with a Fortune-100 Company to pursue my dreams of become a full-time entrepreneur at the age of 23. With the statistics for small-businesses actually succeeding and this transition from MIA to ATL during the beginning of a recession, this move has been extremely risky. However, that risk is what drives me to go even harder because I have no other option! The risk is so great because my reward is even greater; that’s what I tell myself to keep going.

What should our readers know about your business?
The Esthetics Spa is a one-stop shop for all your beauty needs. Our spa strives to provide the best overall beauty experience. Being in Atlanta, the home of Black Beauty, I am super excited to launch my rebrand that prides our brand on LUXURY. My mother owned beauty salons all over the United States and that where my solid foundation comes from, along with my background in Business. I graduated from North Carolina A&T SU with a Bachelors of Science in Business Marketing and now attending Clark Atlanta University for my Masters in Business Administration. I enrolled back in school for my MBA because I realize that there is so much that I still have to learn and I would much rather go back to school to understand how to properly run the various areas of a business and gain experience that will help me in my own business before making mistakes that could cause my plan to fail due to lack of knowledge and/or understanding.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’ve been here for a little over a month so I have not had the time to explore as I want but I loveeeee some Bar Vegan!! The food is amazing and the vibe is even better! Ponce City Market is a spot I would definitely take family and friends.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank all those that have crossed paths with me thus far because I now realize that if I did not experience everything, good or bad, then I would not be where I am today. So shout/out to everybody, because you helped me turn obstacles into opportunities or taught me a valuable lesson on this journey.
