We had the good fortune of connecting with Kiyya Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kiyya, what do you want people to remember about you?
When I think of my legacy, I think of service; service in every aspect of the meaning. Service to others and to self in all that you do…actions, words and everything in between. I believe that if service is at the core of what you do it will almost always yield positive outcomes. I want people to remember that I always worked to shine a light on the path to success for all to see that it is possible. Success comes in many forms and no matter what it looks like for you, it is attainable. My purpose is to help others see their greatness and I strive to do so through daily service to myself and others.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Seven Fourteen Event Services was birthed in 2014 as a simple idea that turned into a dream, then grew into reality. All of these steps did not happen overnight and required many late nights, failures and hard lessons learned over the course of a few years. Seven Fourteen has endured the best and the worst, yet still there is so much more in store. Seven Fourteen Event Services provides quality event support services that lead to the moments you’ll never forget. We are fully invested in the role we have in making each client’s event a success. Each client is more than just a client or an order, each client is considered family. Family is important to us on many levels and besides, who doesn’t want to have a good time with family? We provide access to unique event linens that will serve as an enhancement to any event. Design beautiful, personalized event invitations that can be shared in an instant without the prepping and mailing hassle. We also know that sometimes a few extra experienced hands on deck to help make your event a success. From setup to breakdown & everything in between, we are here for you, let us serve you! Seven Fourteen Event Services is not like other event service businesses as I understand the needs of event professionals from having previously served in that capacity. I am able to anticipate their needs and provide information in a manner that speaks their language. Outside of quality products, the main thing I offer my clients is the understanding that in the event industry time is a hot commodity. I do all that I can to save our clients time, from initial communication until service end, your time matters to me. Getting to this point was far from easy but was more than worth it! I have contemplated quitting more times than I can count but, in the end, it’s never an option. When those times came along, I had to take myself back to the basics, remember why I started and shake off the doubt. Sounds easy but I can assure you that process can take anywhere from one hour to one month, lol…this entrepreneur life can get crazy! The main lesson I keep with me is that I have made it through 100% of my worst days and this vision was given to me so it is possible!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A week in Atlanta, is sure to be a week to remember. Breakfast stops would have to be – Rosie’s Coffee Cafe on Sylvan Road for a good cup of coffee, salmon croquettes, chicken sausage and croissant or Le Petit Marche in Kirkwood, the griddle cakes and deconstructed French toast are my favorites. Now that we’re full, a little self-care at Asia Rose Spa in The Highlands is on the menu with relaxing facials, the sauna pod and an unmatched atmosphere. Lunch at Delia’s Chicken Sausage Stand on Moreland Ave and dessert at Endulge Bakery just down the street, they have the best cupcakes! After lunch we’d hit the Culture Experience on the Westside for some IG worthy selfies or Krog Street to admire the latest graffiti work of local artist. Then back to the Highlands for dinner at Surin, for the best Thai food.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are many people that have contributed to the birth & growth of Seven Fourteen Event Services. Here are a few people I’d like to highlight: Kristal of Sweet 52 Ave for thinking of me and always showing support through action and encouragement. Danyel, for always pushing me to do the work needed to reach goals that I set, even when I complain. Drea, for making sure that I don’t forget how great I am by always reminding me of my strengths and abilities in all situations. Te Espi for fostering meaningful connections and being my sound board for all of my ideas. Tisha & Pablo, for keeping my head above water by being my corners of solace and peace when things get hectic or I just need a moment. Last but truly not least, Jalissa. Seven Fourteen Event Services could not have made it this far without you. Your friendship, support, investments, encouragement and assistance are appreciated more than I think you know. I love and value all of these women with every ounce of me!
