We had the good fortune of connecting with Kira Skye Salgado and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kira, how do you define success?
I define success as living in true alignment with who you are, what you value, and how you show up in the world.

Success is not just visibility or recognition. It is having the discipline to build something meaningful and the courage to pursue it consistently. As a film actress, runway model, and entrepreneur, I have learned that success is not instant. It is layered. It is earned quietly long before it is seen publicly.

For me, success means creating opportunities instead of waiting for them. It means turning ambition into structure and intention into action. It also means impact, knowing that the work I create leaves something behind, whether that is inspiration, representation, or proof that resilience and independence matter.

Ultimately, success is building a legacy that reflects creativity, discipline, and purpose. When my work, my values, and the impact I make are fully aligned, that is success.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career is built on intentional evolution. I approach every opportunity as a stepping stone toward something larger. What sets me apart is my discipline and long-term vision. I am not chasing visibility, I am building credibility.

I am most proud of pushing myself to take on opportunities even when I didn’t feel fully ready, proving to myself that determination and focus can open doors I once thought were out of reach. From runway appearances to film work, each experience has expanded my confidence and sharpened my skills.

It has not been easy. Building something without shortcuts means learning everything firsthand — marketing, branding, client relations, budgeting, and positioning. There were moments of doubt, slow growth, and trial and error. Those challenges strengthened my vision. I overcame obstacles by treating every opportunity seriously and committing fully to the process.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that success is layered, earned through consistent effort, growth, and perseverance. My career is purposeful, and every decision I make is guided by the goal of creating something meaningful, lasting, and impactful.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting Atlanta, I’d make sure they got the full experience, amazing food, hidden gems, and all the iconic spots. We’d start off in East Atlanta for breakfast at Gut Busters on chandler road, a local favorite that’s appetizing and affordable. From there, we’d head to Piedmont Park or Grant Park, which are perfect for a picnic. That’s how we’d start the day, journaling, manifesting, praying, and soaking in the morning energy before heading out to explore.

Lunch would be a no-brainer: tacos at Magic Tacos off Memorial Drive. I’ve genuinely never had any tacos better than these. Every bite is packed with flavor, and the staff are the kindest and most wholesome people. They also have burritos, quesadillas, loaded fries, churros, and homemade peach lemonade. I will forever love and support Magic Tacos.

After lunch, we’d explore the creative energy of the city with a visit to Little Five Points, checking out unique shops like Crystal Blue and Junkman’s Daughter, and doing some thrifting at Goodwill and Value Village — Atlanta has some of the best thrift finds around.

Later in the week, we’d spend time walking The BeltLine, enjoying the public art and city energy. A stop at Ponce City Market would be next, exploring shops, grabbing a bite, and taking in the rooftop views.

After a full day of adventure, we’d cap it off with dinner at The Golden Apple Buffet or The Wagyu House, depending on whether we feel like keeping it casual or getting dressed up, because sometimes you just need to indulge, and celebrate an successful day in Atlanta.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to the woman who raised me, my abuela. She is the foundation of who I am. I admire her strength, grace, discipline, and resilience. She embodies everything I strive to become as a woman. The way she carries herself, the way she loves, and the way she perseveres through anything has shaped my mindset and my work ethic. She is my biggest supporter and I love her with my whole heart!

Thank my family for always supporting me and instilling the values I live by every day. They taught me my morals, ambition, loyalty, and belief in myself. Those values guide me in every room I step into.

To my friends, thank you for constantly inspiring me and supporting everything I pursue. Having people around you who genuinely believe in your vision makes all the difference.

Professionally, I am incredibly grateful to every casting director, film director, producer, designer, and photographer who has believed in me and given me the opportunity to shine. Whether it was on the runway or on screen, every opportunity has contributed to my growth.

No one builds anything alone. Every person who has supported me, challenged me, or opened a door for me deserves recognition in my story.
