Meet King Dion | Rapper, Producer & DJ

We had the good fortune of connecting with King Dion and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi King, what are you inspired by?
Honestly, my inspirations are pretty hectic and all over the place. However one of my biggest inspirations is any really good album, and when I say good I mean a “Classic Album”. for example Chris Brown’s self titled album is really a 10/10 body of work. You can hear the focus and passion in each song on that track list. It makes me want to get up and go do the same.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art will always be full of substance and pivoted toward the future. No matter if it’s my music, my fashion or my words. I am super excited for the future of my music catalog. I have 2 Albums in the works, I am also working on my own personal EP, as a little teaser to what’s to come next. My journey to get here was confusing. at times it was a breeze and in other moments I was buried in unfinished business. The headspace that saved me was “This too shall pass”. The bad moments are only momentary, but so are the good ones. So regardless of the circumstances, just keep moving forward. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned along the way was to listen more and talk less. Knowledge is free to the silent. If there was anything I’d want my brand, GXDONLY (God only) to communicate to the world it’s that the only people who can judge you are God & GXDONLY!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend visiting Atlanta, We’d stay in the Moxy in midtown. But we’d pretty much be everywhere from Covington, to Austell! first were going to Covington Georgia, where I once lived. Here they’d get to hang with me & the bros. My brothers are the best circle to be in if you’re trying to have a good time out here. Then we’ll head over to a Studio in Decatur called Sound Lynk where we’d chill and listen to music, or even make some! After that, we can go grab some food in Atlanta at a Slutty Vegan Restaurant. preferably the one in edgewood. from there we gotta go shopping. The Best spot for that is always gonna be Little 5 Points, They have some of the best vintage shops out there. lastly we take our new fits and we head over to austell Ga, to visit the world famous six flags over georgia.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out God first and foremost. God is my compass. As far as influences here on earth, I always thank my father, DJ Corey, for sharing his love of music with me. He motivated me to become the hustler I am and without that I’d be little to nothing. Of Course I thank both my parents. My Mother is my 1st love, Really my whole family. Especially my uncle Kerry. He’s The reason I didn’t quit music when I was released from jail back in 2019. Then last but not least my entire production and management team; Apollo management, 3410 Beats, The Cutbeetlez & my friend, mentor and frequent collaborator JR Carter.
