We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimlyn Teague and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kimlyn, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my business actually came from something that I was already passionate about and that I have a degree in the field. I was already working at a 9-5 in the fitness industry for big corporate gym. the year of the pandemic, covid seemed to stop a lot of things. My passion wasn’t one of them. Oxyn was birthed! I seen the opportunity to make sure clients, friends, and family could stay healthy from the comfort of their homes during quarantine. I was in alignment with my assignment.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The thing that sets me apart from other trainers is that I really care for my clients. Other trainers don’t coach and motivate like me. They wont stay awake for you at night like I will. My level of holding clients accountable is higher than theirs. I protect my clients because I didn’t have that. We yield results! That’s what makes me different.
It is not easy and still a work in progress. starting a business is not for the faint of heart ultimately you have to believe in yourself and in your product. You must trust that your purpose is to serve clients to help them have breakthroughs mentally, physically, spiritually, and financially.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend visiting me for the best time ever will be training at the gym starting Monday. Never miss a workout on Monday. After that we’ll grab a bite to eat at Gusto’s. Our next hang out would be in the Ponce Market area where we’ll probably have great discussions over a happy hour bar. On Tuesday we would visit Stone Mountain. Grab food at chipotle. Wednesday we’ll visit Hawks or Falcons game. Thursday we’ll gear up for a trip to the college football hall of fame. Friday we’ll visit a nice gym in the area and follow up with food near North Highland. Saturday we’ll run on the belt-line before stopping to grab a bite to eat at Go Vinda’s Cafe near little five points. Sunday we’ll do yoga and run on Silver Comet Trail before having lunch at Slutty Vegan.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wanna dedicate this to all my Oxyn members. I’m so grateful and appreciative for every single one of them for allowing me to be their coach. I want the best for them and I’ll continue to push them and motivate them to be the best people they could be.
