We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimiko Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimiko, how do you think about risk?
Growing up I was a reserved timid child that had big dreams of starting my own creative business. I didn’t know if I wanted to be a creative director, music artist, or photographer. Risks was never apart of the original plan because I was scared of them. However, I saw the impact that speaking up, taking risk, and jumping in head first had on those around me. Risk are scary but it’ll jumpstart apart of you that you never imagined possible. Taking risk put me in the position to inspire and meet people I never thought I’d come across. Taking risk will put you in positions to be a better person physically, spiritually ,and mentally.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Believing in my self got me to where I currently am. It wasn’t easy and still isn’t easy. We live in an ever evolving social media world and coming up with ideas that are different from others take time. Along the way I’ve learned that you won’t always please everyone and you shouldn’t try to. It’s okay to say no to some opportunities that you feel aren’t for you. I’ve also realized rushing that rushing the creative process is never the thing to do, great things come from relaxing the brain.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta is such a beautiful big city. The place I would start is anywhere around the aquarium or Georgia state campus. People are very open and friendly around this area and will lead you to many connections and different areas just off of conversation.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank all of my friends who believe in me and push me to the bigger goal. I wasn’t always as outspoken about my creative abilities and they pushed me and showed me the impact my creativity had on others. My friends come up with ideas for me to execute and it gave me the avenue to express and put out work before I had the proper platform. Judgment free with love.
