We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kimberly, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
To be quite honest, no one else will believe in your goals more than you do, it’s as simple as this. If you want to be something great, you need to give it your all. The term “giving up” shouldn’t be thought of, giving up is not an option. Follow your heart and believe in yourself, always!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own a vending machine business that provides snacks and drinks for facilities in the community. My business also educates our community by providing E-books that give the ins and outs of the vending machine business and provide people with an opportunity to learn how to start their very own vending business. My business stands out because we believe in making sure are customers are satisfied with their services, making them our #1 priority regardless of our short coming, we are still capable of bringing satisfaction. I am most proud of owning my own business because i am able to set an example for my children to have faith in themselves to become successful. I am where I am today because I learned from my mistakes. It wasn’t easy, I was the only woman in the business at the time so all men would try to get over on me because I was a female. I overcame my obstacles by educating myself about how to run a vending business, picking the right machine and more. I’ve learned to take my time and come prepared to my locations. I want the world to know that I moved from a little town in Anniston, Al seven years ago. I moved up here as a single mother with three children, working two jobs and going to school at the same time. I found my way up here alone and I now own 2 businesses.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
OMG, if my best friend were to visit Atlanta, I would take her to La Parrilla. This is by far one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. I would also take her to the Illuminarium and have a glass of wine with her while we wait to be let in to see the beautiful view. I feel like some really interesting places to check out would be the Georgia Aquarium, Botanical Garden and Andretti’s.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes because of my daughter, Keionna Burton being able to come up with the great idea of creating our very own E- book. We will be educating our community on how to start a vending machine business, cold-calling and more! She’s always coming up with amazing ideas on how to grow the business.
