We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Turner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimberly, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I’m a huge believer in taking risks, whether big or small. I think sometimes people believe that risks can only be big leaps but even small steps can be risks. I’ve taken huge leaps and small steps, both which I consider risks, in my life and career. If nothing else, I’ve grown and learned lessons from each.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Elizabeth In Pearls, my jewelry and art business, is named after my grandmothers, Elizabeth (Grandmommy) and Pearl (Ma Pearl). At Elizabeth In Pearls, we create uncommon jewelry and art that speak uplifting stories and messages. It is for those who want to experience unique, eclectic, jewelry and art pieces.

My creation process is organic and spiritual for me. Creating is like breathing, so as it comes, I make. It’s a process that flows and I’ve learned not to force what doesn’t want to become, which makes creating even more calming and enjoyable.

One of the things that excites me the most is creating our campaigns/campaign videos for our jewelry collections, which we’ve been doing for the past few years. The campaigns always spread powerful and uplifting messages and promote love, reflection and (especially for Black people) taking up space wherever we are so led to do so.

Please go check out our latest collection “Castaway” and our “The Shipwreck” campaign and video, which just dropped on June 16th!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
