Meet Kimberly McClearn-Snowden | Master Resilience Instructor & Life Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly McClearn-Snowden and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kimberly, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I had multiple thought veins I processed starting a business through.
1) When attending college I took a Economics class that let me in on a term and concept that was never taught to me called “Socioeconomic Status” and how it works. After understanding that black women were disproportionately lowest at mostly all points of status in our country I was shocked. In short, I learned that our country allows us to economically thrive if we own a business. So I knew at some point in life, I “needed” to become a business owner.
2) Even though I knew I wanted to be a business owner, I knew that it must be God has called me to, in the area of something I’m passionate about, would do if I saw no ROI for a long time, and could stick with as long as it took to see it flourish. So when I finally learned of life coaching and teaching soft life skills as a viable business model, I knew it was the perfect fit for me.
3) When I started my business I was a single Mother of 3 sons. I have always had a strong resolve of being an example to them of what an assertive, confident, authoritative yet caring woman looks like. So I believe it has benefited them, as well as now even my 4th son and husband, greatly to see their Mom and Wife in the role of business owner and see all the behind the scenes things I do to run it. My husband was already an entrepreneur for many years when I met him. My family unit are my driving force behind what I do and the legacy I want to leave. Currently my 16 year old son in high school tells me he has desires to become an entrepreneur; that does my heart good!

What should our readers know about your business?
I’ve been fortunate and blessed to live the story of my business and professional career colliding in purpose and intent; that is to help people become their best self and flourish in life.
The certifications I’ve gained in my career employment of: Leadership Development, Master Resilience Trainer, Interpersonal Violence Instructor, Suicide Prevention & Intervention rep & instructor are all hugely beneficial in what I do as a double certified life coach.
Then when I consider all of these trainings and add them to my own personal setbacks, developments, and breakthroughs, transformations, it all makes me very passionate and good at what I do in the area of helping others. And I think that’s what my superpower is; the compounding effect in my lifes journey. It’s what sets me apart.
I think the most difficult thing about being a quote unquote “expert” in the area of helps during tough seasons of life is when I must go through my own difficult trials and have to apply my own teaching… coach myself.
However I’d have it no other way. I’m super grateful I have the knowledge, skill, and passion to live what I preach. I’ve embraced the challenges of being authentic in my own evolving journey; it’s a lesson well learned. It’s nice here! And if I could encourage everyone to grab ahold of loving their journey, all of it, that’s what I’d want for them. Don’t run from the process, embrace it. And also clap for their wins, everyday if possible.
I’d love for anyone that doesn’t known me to co-sign me as your Big Sis and hear my heart when I say that if you find yourself stuck in a rut of despair because of the things you have or are currently going through, you don’t have to stay there and I believe you shouldn’t stay there. Because life is short and we all have destiny and purpose to fulfill. Don’t waste this precious thing called time that has been afforded to us.
My business is dedicated to aiding people discover that “ah ha” moment, desiring that necessary change, and then walking with them through that change to reaching destiny goals. Even if I don’t know you personally, know that I’m cheering for you!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Hey Bestie, welcome to the A! I have a few spots I’ve loved for a long time, so I’m sure you will too! Now Girl, you know I’m vegan & enjoy a pretty clean life, but I promise you still enjoy it all.
So I think it would be fun if we planned to check out an outing and new eatery for you each day you’re here.
On the top of my list is to have you enjoy:
A night in the intimate setting of food, drinks, & live music at The Velvet Note
An amazing night of food, drinks, & live music at St. James Live
My son’s as well as myself loved The Football Hall of Fame Museum and The Civil Rights Museum so I know you’ll love it too.
Now just because I’m vegan doesn’t mean I eat salads all day. Atlanta has some of the best vegan options in the country. You’ll nearly not be able to tell what you’re eating has no meat or dairy products in it. I see it as a challenge! After we catch a show outside Atlanta at the Mabelhouse Amphitheater, We’ll be going to:
Go Vegan Grill
Order food from Planet Soul Atl
Wait in hopefully a short line for Slutty Vegan if we plan it right and then
Maybe catch a basketball game or catch an AMXEX movie

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family unit near & far, but especially my household of my amazingly supportive Husband, Christian Sr. and the fruits of my womb, my 4 sons, KeyShan, Tariq, Christopher, & Christian Jr.
