Meet Kimberly Lowe | CEO & Founder of Faith Effect

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Lowe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kimberly, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business came from a place of self reflection and reconstruction. I wanted to be better in all aspects of my life, and the only way I saw fit to do so was to seek God. I had been asking myself for a long time “How can I honor God more?” At the time, I was experiencing a shift and it left me in an uncomfortable space. I was being tested, challenged, and forced to step out of my comfort zone. In doing so, I put a decade long relationship behind me. Looking forward, I knew the only way I was going to be able to embrace and fully accept this new chapter of my life was to rely on God. One night while scrolling through IG, Krystal Lee, the creator of a spiritual brand that I love, “Girl + God,” was offering a free masterclass on how to start a T-shirt business with no money. I took a leap of faith and signed up. It was then, Faith Effect was born. I could honor God by creating faith-based T-shirts with scriptures and/or positive, fun, and uplifting wording. Not only will it help me on my journey but can also help someone else in their journey of building their relationship with God. My IG page is not only to promote my shirts but to empower others to practice faith, hence my brand name, through posts that are encouraging and uplifting as well. I want my overall brand to be a space where someone who is going through something can look to for encouragement and how to push through and keep their faith in God. He helped me through a difficult time and he wants to help them as well. Ask and you shall receive. He is just waiting for them to ask in prayer.

Please tell us more about your career. Wed love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
At this time, I’m most excited about being featured in this article/magazine. Since starting my business last year, I have been diligently working on branding. This feature is the perfect opportunity to give Faith Effect a nice boost. Entrepreneurship is wonderful, but at times, it can be overwhelming. I’m still clocking into my 9-5 while being an entrepreneur. My faith in God is what has kept me going. There have been a lot of times I’ve doubted myself. Social media can have you questioning yourself on days when interaction, views, and/or sales are low. I constantly remind myself of my true intentions when starting Faith Effect. Anything worth having won’t come easy, and the goal is to genuinely touch or help someone. Likes won’t determine value. I’ve learned to be patient and persistent. Each piece of content I create won’t be perfect, but the goal is to send a message across so that it can be received by at least one person. I do plan to expand my brand in the future and become more than just a clothing brand.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I absolutely love to entertain and to travel. So if I had a friend coming to the city for a week, our time together would consist of some relaxation, culture, eating, and fun. We would start the week with a couple days outside the city at Chateau Elan checking out their wine and getting some self care in with some time at the spa. Then actually in the city, we could go to one of the selfie museums, who doesn’t love taking pictures. We could visit the King Center. And lastly, in Atlanta we love to brunch so also go to one of my favorite brunch spots Gocha’s Breakfast Bar or The Real Milk and Honey.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
God of course deserves a shoutout, I would not be here if it wasn’t for him. I also want to dedicate this to my mother, Patricia, who passed away in 2012, she planted the seed of faith in me while I was young all the way until her passing. I also have a great group of family and friends who have supported me in different ways by encouraging me to start my brand, giving me ideas and advice as I’ve been starting out, made purchases, helped promote and being just a text or phone call away if I need help. They know who they are and all hold a special place in my heart.
