We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Barfield and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimberly, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am from Miami, Fl.

Both of my parents, and my entire family is from Jamaica. They both came to America for more opportunities not just for themselves, but for their children, and I know that road was not an easy one.

Everyday I push myself to learn more, and achieve more, because without them, I wouldn’t have the opportunities I have today.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Professionally, I am a First Responder, specifically a Police Officer. I have been in my career for approximately 7 years now, and I love what I do.

Recently, I had a baby in August 2020, and I wanted to generate other forms of income that would not keep me stuck in the uniform doing overtime, etc.

Now, I am also an AirBNB super host, and also, I am a content creator/lifestyle influencer Instagram:KimberlyLifestyle

In all, the most challenging was becoming a Police Officer, but with all challenges I believe that what God has for me, it is for me. So I always look at challenges as either a learning lesson as its called, “A challenge”, and I love challenges, especially when I am successful in the end.

The lessons I’ve learned is “Never Stop”.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, for me. Especially being a cop, I like a complete getaway from my element, so I try to take a trip to different countries at least once a month or every other month.

I see a lot within the city, so getting away eases my mindset.

But some nice chill spots are definitely the up and coming New Design District, Wynwood, and Miami Beach. Im always down to brunch.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I really would love to thank my Husband, Kenyan Barfield and our children.

My Husband is my rock, and partner in life. Besides being a business woman, I am a First Responder, and I work 12 hours a day. Without him, I couldn’t run my businesses alone. I know that I can always trust his judgement, and with his education in finance he’s taught me things along the way that has helped our household generate multiple streams of income.

Also, my children. my children give me purpose to go harder everyday. I want more for them than I had growing up as a child, and they push me to be a better me. I am raising young girls, and I want to be the #1 person they look up to as mentor.
