We had the good fortune of connecting with KimBella The Solo Esthetician and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi KimBella, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The Solo Esthetician is a community effort. Although we’re based in Atlanta, Georgia, our members come together in our private Facebook group from every state in America, and even other countries, to share their knowledge and encouragement with each other. The success of this group is directly related to its engagement, and a huge reason why the group is so engaging is because, when we each share our real-life experiences as estheticians, the rest of us can relate so intimately. We are all so invested in each of our own businesses, as entrepreneurs and business owners, so everything we talk about really hits home- from the struggles to the wins. Each of our stories and the lessons that come from them get everyone talking and truly learning from each other.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My intention with The Solo Esthetician is to support and empower people like me: independent estheticians who are working to grow their career and make a fulfilling living. When it comes to navigating your career, there is so much daunting information out there on the internet and on TV… we serve to take the guess work out of these important decisions- from opening a salon to selecting the products you’ll use with customers to going out and booking those customers! I went through all of these experiences before I founded the group, and now we all share our stories to help each other make the best decisions.

In terms of the business of The Solo Esthetician, we work as a liaison between our faithful members and our trusted brand partners, who we refer to as our Recommended Resources. Our members trust us to bring them the best resources that they can take advantage of to benefit their own career and businesses.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta has a lot of quaint and eclectic places to shop and eat. Ponce City Market is an artsy mix of restaurants, boutiques and more. It’s one of those places where you can bike, jog and stuff like that.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to shoutout my group moderators! The Solo Esthetician leads a private Facebook group of over 30K licensed estheticians and 22K student estheticians. Every new member and every new post to the group must be reviewed and admitted by a group moderator. I am so thankful to have a team of six wonderful group leaders who support me in keeping this show on the road.
