We had the good fortune of connecting with Kim McCarter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kim, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“If you live good, you shall do well. If you do well, you shall live good.” I heard this quote about ten years ago during a personal development conference. It really hit home. This quote reminds me that everything I do comes full circle when I am aligning and doing my best to honor the visions Christ has placed in my heart. The meaning of living good and doing well has evolved over the years. What once meant simply leaning in and building an amazing business has transformed into genuinely living a fulfilled life.

What should our readers know about your business?
As a Breakthrough Coach, I’m deeply committed to providing an empowering space for Black Women entrepreneurs to elevate their businesses by integrating their unique strengths with actionable, heart-centered strategies. My mission is to empower my clients not only to achieve success but to redefine what success means to them. A pivotal part of my approach involves a self-discovery methodology called Human Design. I stumbled upon Human Design a few years ago, and it transformed the way I see myself and my business. It’s now a cornerstone of my work, helping clients unlock their potential by understanding their energetic blueprint. I am never short of amazed when my clients are able to put words to their innermost thoughts, emotions, and ideas. Seeing them have creative breakthroughs… it’s something I thank God that I am able to witness and facilitate for them through Him.

The road to where I am today was anything but direct. It was riddled with challenges, detours, and obstacles. But who desires a straightforward journey? The richness lies in the challenges because that’s where growth happens. For me, overcoming these obstacles meant embracing vulnerability, trusting the journey, and, above all else, learning from every single setback.

One of the most profound lessons I’ve learned is the importance of resilience and staying true to your vision, even when the path isn’t clear. It’s about embracing your authenticity, establishing boundaries, and recognizing it’s okay to change direction when it doesn’t align with your core values or the impact you want to make.

I want the world to know that my brand and my story are deeply rooted in empowerment, transformation, and what I like to call a sprinkle of Kimlosophy. The Energetic Containers™ I create are for dreamers, doers, and everyone who believes that business is about more than just profits. It’s about creating a life and business that not only looks good on the outside but feels right on the inside. It’s about understanding your Human Design and using that knowledge to navigate your entrepreneurial journey with confidence, clarity, and a sense of true alignment.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in North New Jersey. We are the state of local favorites. A few must-visits would include Top’s Diner, Meximodo, Labebe Prime, and Saigon Pho, and if it’s spring or summer, we are definitely hitting a few of my favorite Farmer’s markets. I typically hang out off the beaten path… think chill spots with a great happy hour. I would more than likely plan based on what’s happening locally and the vibe we are going for. There is always something happening here.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The first person that comes to mind is my friend Darius. We met back when we both were still in our corporate roles. We have bounced ideas off of each other, covered each other in prayer, traveled together, and truly been each others’ rocks. Our friendship motto is iron sharpens iron.
