We had the good fortune of connecting with Kiara Reid and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kiara, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
My end goal is to have successfully change the way people perceive beauty & self care. I want people to look at self care & beauty as an important part of their overall health, and not just something superficial.
By the end of my career I’d love to be a multi business / brand owner, with several give back initiatives & opportunities for women of color.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
KBK Beauty is a Beauty Business that consists of services & products. As a licensed esthetician I provide makeup, waxing,& facial services. As a brand I provide cosmetic & beauty essentials. I’m most excited about the opportunity to shed light on self care & self love using beauty as a tool to do so. I really believe that beauty has the power to change your life by changing the way you perceive yourself.
The journey to where I am today started with just putting myself out there. I started with hair and makeup assisting, along with going to a few different cosmetology schools. I finally found my niche and attained my license in skin care.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned thus far is to take my time and not to put so much pressure on deadlines or destinations. All I have in the present is the present and as as long as I’m aligned in intention and purpose everything else works out.
I want the world to know that KBK beauty believes that Beauty is therapy in its own way, Investing in self care is important to your overall health & wellness.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The first place we would go is to Red Pepper by Lennox mall. I love the food / drinks there specifically the grilled oysters & the jalapeño margarita. After that we would go shopping at the mall of Georgia. Followed by a massage at natural body spa ( the Webb gin location in snellville) then we would end the night on the rooftop on ponce.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my family. Their motivation & support keeps me going
