We had the good fortune of connecting with Kiara Doaty and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kiara, risk taking: how do you think about risk, what role has taking risks played in your life/career
I don’t! For me, the word risk within itself is a red flag because now I’m presented with having to rationalize the situation and accepting the fact that whatever I’m considering could turn out bad or I might fail. Now don’t get me wrong, I know everything I do in life won’t be an immediate success and I’m always open to learning from my mistakes. I have always tried to steer clear of approaching anything I do with “what if’s” anywhere in the equation because it interferes with my tunnel vision to win. That’s like trying to walk with God while holding the devils hand. It’s impossible, so why set myself up to approach anything with a clouded mind. Thinking about where I am now with Wagnificent Delights, I can remember saying to people that starting a business was never truly my intentions. I had people requesting treats for their pups and I was simply happy and satisfied with the $3/dozen I was getting (lol). I seriously just found joy in seeing them so pleased with getting quality treats that their fur babies deserved. So there were never expectations attached to the decision for me to even consider it a risk or not.

The fact that I don’t approach ideas or opportunities thinking that they are a risk, has allowed me to enter into that particular space completely optimistic and open. Open to learning, understanding, adjusting and growing. I feel like even if I was to start today with the mind frame of something being a risk, it would reflect in my actions because all thoughts become actions one way or another and I don’t want to limit my capabilities and creation by operating with caution. Not to say that I won’t ever consider something I want to do as a risk, but for me to look at anything as being a risk, I would definitely spend too much time in my head processing what could possibly go wrong and will likely give up before even trying and that’s what I don’t want to happen. Even if I don’t succeed, I want to at least be able to say I tried. I have realized in this experience alone, my approach has allowed everything to be genuine and everyone wants genuineness when they are spending their hard earned money on things that they believe in. I have been able to do away with motives and agendas to push a product and truly focus on equality, health, and true satisfaction.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
From what my amazing customers have expressed, knowing that they are receiving true all natural products that even they could consume is what keeps them returning. Wagnificent Delights has remained true to producing human grade products. A lot of people questioned the human grade quality so I started giving samples to both the owners and their fur babies at local sales and it was priceless. Seeing the shock on their faces and verbal expressions of how good it is, is the best ever. At this point, I’m so proud of the recognition and seeing customers show up at local sales expressing that they were hoping we would be there and sharing stories of their pets destroying there cabinets searching for our treats lol.

Getting Wagnificent Delights to where it is now, has not been an easy journey at all. Starting a business from the ground, working 40+ hours for a stressful job, managing my Multiple Sclerosis and household, while remaining active as possible in my church has taken lots of praying, remaining focused on my vision, arguing, crying, blasting music, redoing time slots in my life so everyone and everything has a share of my time and attention, patience, accepting that even those in my circle won’t understand my process and it doesn’t mean they are against me, knowing when to just walk away and breath, how to be specific in the help I need, and so much self-care. Without determination and remembering my purpose, I’m sure it wouldn’t have lasted this long and I’m so thankful for the new layers this process has added to my life. I’ve always been an independent person and prefer to work alone and not ask for help, but there is no way possible to achieve anything as an entrepreneur working solo.

If I could pick what I wanted the world to know about me, my brand, and my story, it would be that, I will forever fight for what I believe in, even if I’m fighting alone. My heart won’t allow me to settle for anything unjust and that’s from the production of unsafe products and unfair pricing, to equality for all mankind and fur babies too!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Now this would be a tough one, lol. There is always some type of festival going on, on the Gulf Coast so that would definitely be in the plans. Florida is really close, so going to the beach, parasailing, dolphin tours or boat tours with wine, food, and live music and eating lots of seafood would definitely be on the agenda. Then there’s Biloxi and the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino has great concerts and shows, Margaritaville, and more tours on the water and lots of seafood!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have the absolute best support system and they definitely deserve a ton of “Thank You’s”. My mom and aunt are always the first to see a new idea or get the scoop on my highs and lows no matter the time of day. I have them in a group chat so when I text at 3 a.m. I can bother them at the same time, lol. Being a member of Boss Branding on a Budget has been the most amazing support and encouragement as a new entrepreneur. Consistency WAS an issue for me; however, this membership has provided solid accountability and professional development. The creator, Imari Graves has a true gift and doesn’t mind pulling me out of my comfort zone. She clearly sees something in me that I haven’t been able to acknowledge yet. No matter what excuse I give she always replies, “You’ll be fine”. She has definitely been more than a branding coach. My husband, bless his soul! He gives the toughest love and support in a true unconventional way. He has been accepting of all the time I put into Wagnificent Delights and when I’m up late filling orders or getting ideas out because my mind won’t rest, he is sitting right there fighting his sleep because he refuses to leave me up alone. And let’s not forget he is the worlds greatest equipment manager and only charges me a large fry from Arby’s and an Italian Ice from Rita’s so his position is secured for life, lol.
