We had the good fortune of connecting with Kia El Bey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kia, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I have been in business a long time; although I switch between industries I always notice that consistency, knowledge and focus are so important. We always shy away if we don’t have immediate success but it takes time to sow and cater to your vision!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I knew I was meant to be something different and as I was journeying I could feel why that was! My placement here I always felt was to inspire! I work so hard and go so hard some days because whenever I slow down, someone reminds me of what I say to them! Everybody wanna be pressure these days but I want to relieve the pressure and create more opportunities for success! If you know me I started off as a regular chef! I started cooking for celebrities and influential people and building my network! I was incarcerated for a good while where I learned how much of an influence came by way of showcasing peace! I had entered into ministry for our national tribe and nationals all over🇲🇦. After I was out I knew the best way to share my message was music, people just listen when I speak; so if I make it more alluring the more people can learn. Not getting the results I wanted, and wanting more exposure I started my own radio station and it has given me a strong leg in the industry. I have overcome so many tests and trials and that’s what showed me the most resilience in those I work with! That’s what I want people to know about me Ki.IX(Key Nine) and Roqkstar Crew we are resilient and here to inspire and entertain!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ok well since I’m from DC I love the opportunity to share a day in Atlanta or I’ll say the nightlife since that’s usually when I’m out! So first is “Las Trojas” which is a nice Mexican restaurant in Jonesboro, one of my favorites! I enjoyed the crabcakes and experience at “Old Lady Gang,” and of course for those like me a good experience is the “Slutty Vegan” I haven’t tried the burgers but the fries and the atmosphere is great. There are always great events in Atlanta on Thursdays I always make sure to catch the “Live With Carisha show,” and you can catch me hosting her Red Carpet! As a performing artist I am always looking for dancers and practice spaces and “Werk it pole studios,” is my go to they have the best dancers (shout out to Lea Laverne) and they throw the best events and dopest classes! I don’t drink really but “burn lounge in Atlanta” is a vibe and they have hookah and drinks!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If you know me I always first give gratitude to the most high, Alhamdulillah. I always shoutout my baby girl because she motivates me so much, supports me the most, and is so understanding it is because of her acceptance and love that I keep pushing! My Momager, My Shooter, my baby Momma and my beautiful shawdii and confidant, and Legendary for supporting me and keeping me reassured that greatness is in my future! Of course I would have no place without my fans aka my Roqkstar Crew!
