We had the good fortune of connecting with Khalua Kinard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Khalua, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
One of my favorite quotes is “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” This timeless piece of wisdom, attributed to Mahatma Gandhi, resonates deeply with me both professionally and personally.
During my time at AVEDA, this quote was more than just words—it was a daily mantra. We wore this quote on our uniform shirts every day for nine months, and that constant reminder played a significant role in transforming my mindset. It was a poignant lesson in the power of mindfulness and the impact of our daily actions. When you see this quote every day, it impresses upon you the importance of taking personal responsibility for making the world a better place. It’s not just about waiting for change to happen but actively participating in creating it.
In my work as a spa owner; aesthetician, I strive to embody this principle. Whether it’s through offering a serene and rejuvenating environment for my clients, educating my community about self-care, or promoting holistic wellness, each action is a step toward the change I wish to see. It’s about cultivating an atmosphere of kindness, respect, and authenticity.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from other spas and facials is my holistic approach to wellness and beauty and the meaningful, ongoing relationships I build with my clients. It’s not just about a one-time service but a continuous journey toward optimal health and radiance. My commitment to education, both for myself and my clients, fosters an environment where everyone feels informed, empowered, and valued.
Ultimately, my goal is to provide an unparalleled spa experience that nurtures the mind, body, and spirit, setting a new standard for what a spa visit can be.
