We had the good fortune of connecting with Khalil Freeman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Khalil, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from the Southside of Atlanta. My mom raised me & my sister, we were all we had. My sister & I seen my mom work so hard to make sure we were good & she always put us first so it’s only right I give her the world .!
What should our readers know about your business?
I’m an Ex Junior College 5’9 Point guard that had dreams of getting paid to play basketball. When those dreams didn’t go as planned I wasn’t left with many options. I loved clothes & shoes, and I had ambitions of starting my clothing line “Filthy Rich” in high school but basketball always had my focus. With no more basketball I was lost so I decided to pursue my clothing idea. As an African American in America we aren’t provided and exposed to the same resources to be successful in other areas beside entertainment industry such as rap & sports so when it doesn’t work out we aren’t left with many options but to make money and hustle. So now later changed to Dirty Money Apparel my goal in the future is to give back and provide more avenues to be successful besides the entertainment industry.! I would say my brand is Street Designer so it stands out from regular streetwear. I started my business with my college refund from COVID-19 and never looked back. Every loss is a lesson so the goal in my business is to never make the same mistakes more than once. I overcome everything with God & my family in mind. I can’t let myself down again so I put in what I want out of my business.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family deserves the biggest shoutout because they made sure I knew God & had manners that help me stand out in certain situations & decisions I had to make to get where I am today. My coaches & trainers that taught me what hard work is deserve a lot of credit for my drive & resilience through adversity. I appreciate all the support since day one from everybody the been on the Dirty Money wave.!
