We had the good fortune of connecting with Key Gray and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Key, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I focus on increasing firearm safety especially in minority spaces. I have been blessed to have been trained by some of the worlds best and many times, people Miss out on vital handgun safety and handling that’s is just as important as being able to shoot a gun.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I focus on helping and driving others to be more informed and safe with their firearm. Started like most people in the firearms world as a gun owner and then I had to use my firearm twice and realized how overwhelming it was and that was almost 15 years ago. Fast forward to today, where I have had to fight negative stigmas and continue to see that many people do not get proper firearms knowledge and make purchases rooted in fear and never train to be proficient and understand the responsibility of firearms ownership. I have learned to be good to people and purpose isn’t about self but it is my giveback and this helps people. SFGD Atl stands for Sunday Funday Gunday and it’s a low stress environment that you can learn about firearms without being in a rigorous classroom. Our saying is, “It is NOT a Class”. It lets people learn about firearms around people that just want to help. I source local law enforcement, military, and other armed professionals including competitive shooters.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would go to the Whelan on huff Rd. Then we would hit up D1 training complex in west midtown. Otherwise we would be outdoors on the beltline biking.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Covenant House of Georgia, I worked with youth there as a Resident advisor and it helped me to be motivated to help others. It inspired my me to educate others on firearm safety as a give back with my SFGD initiative.
SFC Barry Ray, retired Green Beret, a life long friend and mentor. Taught me proper firearms handling and how to teach and create curriculum.
