We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevin Marshall and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kevin, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
I had to make the decision to choose faith over fear. I have always planned every aspect of my life. I never liked to “go with the flow.” Every detail of my life had to be planned, or I would have tremendous anxiety. I made the decision to focus on the big picture and give God the details. I have faith that God will provide in famine, give me confidence when I’m timid, and re-route me when I get off track. You’ll never lose when you choose faith in moments of fear.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My brand, “Kevin Has Hope,” launched in 2020. It started with my book, “Hella Hopeful: 31 Daily Affirmations to Find Hope,” but it’s grown tremendously since then. We now have merchandise with my emblem, the yellow heart. The yellow heart represents hope. I have also created a course for aspiring authors. The “60-Day Author: Online Crash Course” teaches aspiring authors how to start the writing process with practical steps, gives tips on writing a book quickly and efficiently, and teaches them how to self-publish. I teach everything that I know. I also provide one-on-one coaching for aspiring authors. The course, my book, and merchandise are available on my website. If you’re interested in one-on-one coaching, you can contact me via email. I am proud that the book is helping to change lives and provide hope in the midst of a global pandemic. Life is difficult for many people right now. I want them to remember that hope, like a virus, can spread. If we try hard enough, we can spread hope all over the world.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the beltline; It’s one of my favorite attractions. I’m a little salty that my favorite restaurant, F.R.O.G.S., recently closed. It was in Midtown and close to the beltline. I also enjoy Harold’s Chicken & Ice Bar and Sivas Midtown.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a shoutout to my therapist! Therapy helped me become more self-aware. I needed that confidence to traverse life as an entrepreneur.
